AI - I'm just wondering why you don't have any pics of yourself uploaded yet? Not to flame you but I won't take any advice anymore from EF unless the member is proving it w/ pics. When it comes right down to it I don't care what your abs look like, I just care how much weight you can push, but all this know-it-all talk is just silly.

Agreed that there are a lot of people looking for attention by posting, but some of your closest EF buds do the same thing - don't hate the players, hate the game.

hes super ripped... looks really good...

I don’t want to pile on al420 here, so I’ll just quibble with the “measuring stick” thing. I understand the initial attraction to only taking advice from “big” guys. But it doesn’t make much sense. What is MORE impressive is how far they’ve come individually. What did they have to start with, genetically? Were they blessed w/ athleticism and strength? Are they big-boned, thick-muscled guys? How hard did they have to work? I’ve known big strong guys who could bench 400 . . .but guess what? Their bench jumped 150 pounds w/ in the first year of training . . . and hitting 400, while hard, isn’t “that” hard for them. Whereas hitting 400 may be insanity for some thin-boned, lightweight. The big strong guy doesn’t necessarily know jackshit about coaching a guy from 185 to 400. I knew a guy in the Army who was a big boy and he could rep out w/ 315, which impressed the hell out of me. We went to lift together and I told him what I usually lift and he couldn’t believe it was so light. He said, “No, you’re stronger than that, here, try this . . .” and he bumped the weight up about 75 pounds. Well I tried w/ all my fucking might and just got stapled, plain and simple. He was big and strong but knew jack shit about bringing a guy up to his level.

Bottom line: pics and stats are nice, but they don’t prove you know jack shit.

Your measuring stick stinks and reeks of ignorance.

Why thank you - coming from a pre-teen it means a lot

By your “measuring stick” everyone should be doing 1/4 ROM squats, 1/4 rom team bench press and no one should dead lift because it is bad for your back... Because that is the general consensus form 99.9% of the “big” guys at every gym I’ve ever been to.

So, in the 5 months you have been training you feel that you have spoken to a lot of big guys - suuuuure

It's been said here many times, if you're on "juice" just about anything you do will give you results, even if your training is shit. This is not even close to the truth Most of those peopel don't have aclue how to train and that's why they had to turn to "roids"... And you'd rather take advice form someone like that.

I would seriously hope you "own you in size and strength" (as you say) since you've bene training for over 16 years and I've bene training for about 5 month's...

Good, b/c I do - by a lot

I am really impressed now you're my new hero  Sweet

tis thread was started to point out all the clutter that ends up here on a daily basis and the fact that all would take to clean it up is a mod that is actually in this forum on a daily basis.

Like Velvet said and Bunny 2nd......you don't want to drive away people who need help and on the other hand you don't want drive away the people that make the board.

I mean - you just said it yourself - 5 months of training and you are giving advice.....not from what you KNOW, but from what you READ...pretty typical for a kid, so nothing personal.

Point taken - I am not writing a post and then re-reading it several times to insure I sound as smart as possible - When I say Big Guy I am talking about a real lifter - not a beach body. I have lifted in the past w/ genetic freaks that grew no matter what, so I agree w/ you.

I guess what I mean is I will only take advice from someone that is practicing what they preach, has tested there theroies, and has the "proof". Not sure how many folks on EF are knowledgeable and how many are just good readers.

As with PB's Glenn Pendlay/The Shadow thread, this one is probably going to get locked because people started arguing and launching ad hominem attacks that have nothing to do with the thread. And as a result, nothing will be done about the issues that I, BW, AI and others have been raising for some time. Can you guys take it to PMs or something, please?

Just a friendly suggestion: If a thread is lame/stupid/noobish/repetitive then why don't you just ignore it?

Sure crappy posts can clutter a board, but just scroll past it; I don't think using a mouse to scroll down on a webpage is going to cause some huge caloric deficit and/or negatively effect your performance in the gym later from "finger fatigue." I know that when I found EF.com I was astounded at all of this new info - I read the stickies and researched the HST, etc. programs but I still had questions - which I am sure most "EF vets" thought were lame - but they patiently helped me out anyway.

If you only want questions/threads from "serious, knowledgeable people," then a public board (where basically anyone can post) isn't the best place. Start a private board (they're easy-to-make and free in a lot of different places) and only allow elite folks to post.

Bottom line: NO ONE came to EF.com knowing everything about fitness, nutrition, etc.; EVERYONE has learned and a lot of nice folks take the time to help teach others - but if you don't wanna help the ignorant peons, then don't.

Right, but it's annoying when I do generally want to help some people (clearly, out of my own awesomeality [that's a word, I declare it]) and then I go into a thread and have to see lazy people asking the same old questions. JKurz is a beautiful example. He's been doing the same thing for years now, and makes no progress. It's not like he learned and just hasn't done it 'cause a lack of commitment - he continues to ask us here, as if there's something magical he's missing. I hate that. I'm 19 and I learned this lesson before I was old enough to realize underwear goes on the inside of the pants.

This thread has gotten out of hand though, but it's entertaining. No worse than C&C, I'd say.

Private boards are free, you say? Point me to a place where I can get a free private board. I'll set one up for some of the better elite folk in my spare time. :)
