What supps. are good before sleep

Wow, what a bunch of bad answers.

ZMA is total hype. If you think it did something for you, it was placebo.

Glutamine can not be absorbed orally. If you think it did something for you it was placebo too .

GABA in large doses will cause flushing and nervousness.

Melatonin lowers thyroid output and lowers testosterone.

Valerian smells like ass.

how do you feel about: a cal-mag-zinc combo and l-arginine

It's the first time I read that melatonin lowers T ....

BTW what would tou recommend for a good (natural) night sleep ?
 
those of you who take ZMA (all it is is zinc, Magnesium and B6. why not just buy them separately from a health or drug store. You will save a shit load of cash and actually get more of each. In zma there is hardly any b6, so its useless. So basically you are paying a tone of cash for simple zinc and magnesium. The drug store near my house sells a calcium 333mg, magnesium 176mg, and zinc 20mg combo for 8 bucks (Canadian) 100 caplets. 3 of those before bed and im getting more of each than in the recommended dose of zma. this will last me over a month. Not bad.
Some say it does not do shit. Hey I like it. I find that I only need 6 hours of sleep and I feel like I just had 9. wake up feeling like a million bucks. I used to have a real hard time getting up in the morning, could sleep forever, now after 6 7 hours Im wide awake

I also take a b complex in the morning to get all my b vits. this gives me 75 mgs of each b vit.
 
Don't take calcium with zinc - in fact, don't take zinc within 30-60 minutes of dairy products. I've heard that the calcium inhibits the zinc absorption.

I like melatonin, but I don't take it much because of the studies that show that it reduces LH output the following day.

1 gm of gaba will make me very sleepy - but only after feeling like I'm on fire and can't breathe for about 30 minutes!

P7 helps me with sleep, but you've gotta go with it - don't take it and expect to feel like you've popped 1mg xanax, it just helps you relax. If you try P7, make sure you wash and scrub the application site beforehand, it really helps absorption.
