Marty,
Thanks for the info. Since the coach had way too many legal and other complications -- we used a fictional approach to the book, so it's based on the real story but with added changes. You'll recognize most of the characters -- but the mob people are all ficticious.
Maybe at some point, we can do a non-fiction about the players and their lives -- not mentioning the coach's connections -- that would make a good documentary -- looking back after 10 years -- the Hoosiers story.

football (170 pound offensive and defensive tackle)
track (discus and javelin)
swimming (breaststroke and i.m.)
ski-a-holic
ski = water ski or snow?

I think swimming (only did it at club level) was the hardest, most nut up sport there was...even harder than wrestling. I still to this day can not do the butterfly

The team I coach is not the champs. We are ok but not that good. Never said I that. Please get your facts right! The team I played for were the champs.

JEALOUS MUCH... Fucking tool!

snow. . .long boards (210 cm)

i swam winter and summer for 10 years. . .till i wrecked my shoulder (and my opportunity for a scholarship) skiing. . .mogul-bashing, caught a tip, flying face plant, seperated shoulder, broke the "ball" part of the bone off, surgery, screws, rods, bad things, lost some rotation in my left arm, wrecked my butterfly and backstroke. . .

Tennis, for a couple of years, much to the strenuous objection of my ballet teacher...haven't picked up a racket in years, though, I don't know anyone else who plays. In college I did crew...that was kinda fun. I got to yell at people and stuff.

soccer in high school(fall and spring)
when I moved down south I was a year younger than my class mates and thus was behind on the teenage growth curve
couldn't play offensive line and defensive line anymore in football

Played football, baseball and soccar too rowing up when when I got to 7th grade, I picked basketball to be my sport and focused on that. All were fun but basketball was my fav.
