WHAT?!? small guy lifts more than bigger guys?!

SSAlexSS: WoW...what to say? Is that why we see all of these bodybuilders who look so big, pretty, and can barely curl the 35's? Most bodybuilders I know (the real deal pros) are some seriously strong people!!! They cycle how they train but always push the weights.

Remember...it is Progressive Resistance Training.

I agree. But you can progress in number of different ways!

Like add more sets, less rest, more workout days!

Read Arnolds training and do that! Ultimate progressive volume shocker routine!

i have atrophied like crazy and am as light as i was last summer, yet i can easily bench press 200 lbs + for reps, something i rarely see other guys much bigger than me do.

i always suspected they were constantly warming up or going super slow or something:confused:

I have covered powerlifting for way too long - size does not equal strength! Not saying the guys in your gym are either bbers or plers but I have seen many a HUGE weight lifted by someone that didn't look like they could. One guy comes to mind that hardly looked like he worked out but squatted 750 at only 165 bodyweight.

That why compound movements are overated... Their good for strenth since you can put in lots of weight, but they arent good for sizee, since people focus too much on strenth and since many muscles are involved, it is hard to concentrate on any of them!

Yeah, I wouldnt squat, bench, deadlift, military press or bent row if I were you man. They arent good for size at all.....not!

hahahahahahaahahahahahaha.....good one man

All I can say is that I see alot of tiny guys outlifting huge guys at my gym. On the other hand the huge guys are pushing the weights up and down and the tiny ones are either just jiggling them at the top or having their skinny friend do most of the work.

Just for the record I'm the tiny guy not lifting much. But I am lifting it.

Not taking anything away form the small guys. There are alot of them who are stronger than sh*t. As stated above it has to do more with muscle makeup and body configuration than overall size. some peoples bodies are just made to do certain things better.
But the little guys have to also understand that most bigger guys didn't get big by lifting lite weight. If you do your research and understand that you do not always lift max poundages you might see it a little differently. just becuase that big guy is lifting less weight than you at a given time doesn't mean he is not capable of more. You might be lifting your max and he is warming up/cooling down or is doingvery strict reps with the emphasis on muscle control. I am probably one of the bigger guys in my gym and I see smaller guys laugh at the weights I bench with. Its usually the guys (we all know) young, skinney/ripped, wife beater wearing mirror boys. most of the time you need to understand that it's not how much you lift it's how smart you lift. You are all in the gym for most of the same reasons. Just do your thing and it will make you happy. If you still have a problem with the big guys, just be nice and ask why they are training a certain way. and they might give you some good advice and vice versa. BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS THEY ARE THE BIG GUYS AND YOU ARE THE LITTLE GUYS. ENOUGH SAID. Rockett

maybe i shouldent have said big..i should have added "big" means tall with biggish but fatty arms...its all good, all the end og the day we will see how comes home with the results..ohh yeah im not the skinny dude that wears the wife beater and thinks im the shit..i fucking wear t shirts and shit i dont want them to see shit only when they really have too.
