PLEASE HELP...i need some size in my calves so i can start wearing shorts and not look like chicken calves that dont match my upper body

Sorry, that will not work.

You need to either re-evaluate your training routine. I know that's not what you want to hear but nothing else short of implants is going to do the job.

Visit the training forum, there's plenty of threads about this. :)

Mom and Pop play the bigggest role in calf size I'd say. Not to say to give up though, just keep trying and trying and trying and stay determined. If one day it happens, GREAT. If not, then you know you tried every approach you could. My calves have always been big and are still big, My training is nothing fancy by any means where calves are concerned. I am on my feet all night long at work though 5-6 days, a week, so I'm sure that's a contributing factor. I am in a similar boat, but my probelm is arms. Fuckers just won't grow. And site injections will not wotk by the way.

ok, I had legs without calves once, horrible genetics :) Anyway, for about 4 years I have hit them twice a week, one day seated, one day standing and mix the weight and reps up. I'm sorry, but if you do this type of workout intensely + consistently, AND you're on gear AND your diet is in check...there is no reason you can't get the calves to grow the same way the rest of your muscles are.

genetics implants thats it i have 15.5 inch calves at 200lbs and almost the same stats. thats my opinion and mine wont budge. could try hypnotizim lol. face it ive seen this personally with many friends and people that train.. tons of work and no gains only cuts.

Man, I'm in the same boat, actually a little worse. I'm about 212 at 5'11"; 47" chest, 17" arms, 19" neck but the same 14 1/2" calves as you LJ3. My calves have a much better structure to them than 3-4 years ago, but are almost the exact same size.
I've not done any AS cycles yet and one of my fears is that my proportion problem would actually get worse with AS. I did try 1-AD a couple of years ago and did make some good gains, but it seemed that I added more to my biceps than I did my calves, making my build even more unbalanced.
Do you think this is happening to you LJ3?

Site injections do not work. It is absorbed into the muscle and spread throughout your body. Muscle shape and size are all genetic. If you have truly trained to your max on calves for 2-3+ years and not gotten any growth, then I'd say your only option is implants. They couldn't be that expensive(go check with a board certified plastic surgeon). If it truly bothers you enough so you not wear shorts and are very ashamed of them, then implants could make a big difference in your life and self esteem. A little money for a lot of happiness if worth it to me.

You gotta shock em bro. Tell me the last time you had sore calves for three days after a workout :)

I have a great idea! GET REALLY FAT! I mean REALLY FAT! Doesn't it seem that really fat people have huge legs when they get skinny? Probably from carrying all that 300 pounds around... its like doing squats and calf raises all the time. lol. I think thats how my calves are so big.

No i'm jk bro. It really has to do a lot w/ genetics. But as we all know, we can break those rules if we work hard enough. So just bust your @$$ on your calves and make em hurt for days. Good luck!

you have to train them hard, heavy, and often with a full range of motion. Doing a lot of weight and not a full range of motion is pointless. You really want to stretch and the bottom and squeeze at the top and when you think youre at the top youre not, you have to try and go even higher. Do it until it burns so badly you cant take it, and then keep going. The pain is worth it.

Fortunately I have good genetics in the calf dept, its pretty kewl when a girl tells you that you have nice calves or asks if Ive had calf implants!!

It sounds stupid... but.. calves are a stubborn muscle group. Along with hitting them twice a week... do standing calf raises between sets everyday at the gym. Every little bit counts!

I've been blessed I guess. I'm 5'9 so short and squatty helps.
But I have to stop working calves and forearms or I start looking like popeye.
SO the knive cuts both ways bro.

This is the truth, I swear , so take it for what its worth. I have built my calves up 2+ inches in the past 6 monthes using almost no weight. I have always had bigger arms than calves, though nothing outrageous. Anyway, I had tried hitting em super heavy and multiple or limited days per week. Basically everything. Last few months, I have moved to working them only with body resistence. I stand on the back of the bench or donkey style off the end and I do super slow full range double contraction at the top sets of 50+. I do 2 exercises like this per workout and about 5 sets per exercise. I hit em twice a week. I know it goes against everything most say about calve growth, but lighter high volume has been incredibly effective for me. I don't know why or how, but I thought I'd share. Maybe it won't work for most, but I swear this has been my experience. I'll probably alternate between this and heavy training to keep it varied. Claves are definitely the hardest muscle group to figure out.

I remember reading an article awhile back that was written by a fitness chick....she said if you cant get your calves to grow, atleast do a shitload of reps and make them ripped...ripped small calves are still better than just "small calves" If that doesnt work...get some of those knee socks with the 2 stripes at the top.
