what motivates you!?

i can't get motivated for shit these days. the only time i've ever really been motivated/focused is when i was on... i used to get shit done with time to spare to fuck around, and lately it seems like i'll get something done and just call it quits till the next day... drugs are out of the question. but what do you mo's take/do maybe even think about to motivate you throughout the day.

i think my biggest problem is lately, i just haven't been happy. seems like everyone/thing drags me down (i know it's my fault cause i allow it but, its hard to escape) i haven't touched a weight in 4 months (i know that's mind fucked me) i'll run a mile or two early in the morning every other day. i don't even go out anymore... fawk either getting old sux or i'm failing at life.
 
Sounds like depression.

Maybe some zoloft or some shit. Have you seen a Dr? They're good at prescribing shit you don't need. Maybe that will help?
 
Being the underdog motivates me.

Have you thought about doing something new? Do something wild, like skydiving or something.
 
pills are out of the question for me. i barely take tylenol/ib for headaches. i really don't like feeling sloppy/fake so i just stay clear of them. i'm scared of heights so skydiving is a no. if i wanna shit myself i'll do it on the ground.

maybe i need a vacation..!?
 
i remove emotion from the equation entirely. i just make the commitment to do something and i dont let my feelings get in the way of accomplishing my task. if i feel tired or bummed out and dont want to go to the gym, well thats too bad because im going regardless. i act with immediacy before i let questions arise that may break my initial resolve.
 
I know what you mean bro. Lately it has been more and more excuses with me also. However ya just need to get serious maybe set some new kickass goals for the winter!

But seriously you NEED to get back into a routine. You will feel A LOT better.

Working out, thinking positive thoughts, playing with my daughter and watching her expressions with simple things she does.

I suffer from depression but I have it in check. I say away from things that bring me down like drinking etc. Working out, jogging etc. is a real motivator.
 
I get less excited about hobbies that use to really fire me up, e.g. detailing cars, piano, UFC, etc ...

I've lost the edge :(

Damn that just reminded me of how I used to do things. Don't want to do it? Too bad, you're doing it motherfucker. Good way to get shit done.
 
CV Exercise in itself motivates me & the subsequent physical fitness / health benefits. Hiking & Fel running over the countryside / Scottish hills at pace is a fantastic escape from everyday drudgery.
 
what helps me get motivated is being around people that are successful, people that I look up to.

I use to think it was the thing to hang around party folks, drinkers, the barely getting by type. Made me feel like I was doing good by hanging around people that were doing worse. Wrong mindset.
