What makes you special as a person?

I think people get caught up in the materialistic things in life. They think that what they have as far as material posessions is concearned, is what makes them a success or a failure. When in reallity it is who we are on the inside that makes us special.
Each and everyone of us are special in some way or another. It doesn't have to do with your education, your wealth, or anything that you can physically touch or see.
It is who you are on the inside. The character that you show in your daily walk through life is what makes us unigue and special in our own way. In the end, when you are gone, people will not talk about the wealth you amassed, they will remember the person.

I'm special from everyone else because I'm not like everyone else. I consider myself to be pretty, well abnormal!! Nah, I just mean that I'm unique. And fun. And I've recently found that I'm alot stronger than I thought. And that makes me happy, and makes me feel pretty damn special

Nice thought provoking thread!
Some of the people on this board are too young to realize what sets them apart from others. I don't mean to be coming down on younger people but let's face it, the majority aren't older than you and me! LOL! A couple of the things that make me special, IMO, is that I am a man of my word. These days it takes lawyers and contracts and an act of God to agree upon something. The old days when a handshake was good enough are gone! As I look back on my life and the way my parents raised me, I can't thank them enough for having the ability to instill upon me and in me the meaning of integrity. If I can obtain half the integrity my father has then I will feel I have succeeded in life. My business and my clients know that if they ask for something, even if it is out of the ordinary, I will produce for them. That's one of the reasons I have been successful for the last 21/22 years being self-employed.
Another reason that makes me special, IMO again, is that I am a people person. Even if I feel like shit or I am having a bad day, I try to stay upbeat in front of others. Anytime you see me, I will always have a smile on my face and a good word to say. I know I cut up alot on this board but that is just me trying to have a good time. A friendly flame if that is possible! Anyway, those are the things that I feel I try to convey to other people when they are around me. What about you?
