What kind of motor oil do you put in your car?

with two turbos I used regular mineral oil for miles 2500-5000
then one stretch of a blend of synthetic and fossil oil
and after 7500 fully synthetic

I have a '99 wrangler I bought with 49K and use a synthetic/fossil blend

Regular oil. I see no point in spending twice as much for synthetic oil when regular oil has been doing the job for 100 years no problem. I've heard mechanics say that if buying synthetic oil gives you some peace of mind, then go ahead and spend your money. What's more important is changing your oil on a regular basis.

I believe it's quite a different deal when turbochargers are involved

hell gas is 2.50/gallon
spending an extra 25 on a synthetic oil is well worth it every 3K or so

What's the difference between 10W-40, 10W-50 and so on. I drive a Jeep Cherokee. What kind should I be putting up in that piece?

Somewhere in this world, lumberg s ears are ringing.

yeah I know GL. I like to test Lumberg's "car part dicussion"-dar. He'll be on this thread like like DIV on an Albino.

I believe its just how viscous the oil is, id suggest 10w30,but it should say under the hood or in the owners manual
