Well, for the first time in my life, I'm actually a fat guy.
I was 205lbs at a low bodyfat percentage. This was in April. May came around and I stopped training or taking bodybuilding seriously...after a half assed attempt at a comeback that lasted a few days, I'm up to 240lbs with much less muscle than when I was 205lbs.
I'm 5'8 btw, so this makes me a very chucky individual.
I use to worry about a few extra layers of BF that cover my abs but now I'm a full blown fat guy...here's what I learned.
1. Being fat makes you smell bad.
There's something about being fat that really makes you stink, not really because of the extra sweating. There's a certain odor that comes with being fat.
This is a little disgusting, but I was never able to get the stench off my balls. I use to be able to when I was lean, I would scrub them with Irish Spring soap before going to a chick's house. As a fat guy nothing seemed to get that smell out
It never went away.
If you think a traditionnal bodybuilding diet is bad for flatulence, you haven't followed a fat guy's diet.
2. Being fat is more acceptable than being jacked.
I noticed that people are much nicer to me when I'm fat. Even women, people are generally less intimidated by you. They may be nicer to you but they certainly don't respect you as much.
3. Being fat gives you a false sense of security in the gym
I noticed that my lift were going up, not by much but it seemed like I could handle more weight than when I'm lean. It cushions you're joints quite a bit. This is a very dangerous and you can hurt yourself...it's not bonafide strenght.
I was deadlifting a weight that was only 10 lbs heavier than a weight I had done the previous week for 3 easy reps. I nearly broke my back; I couldn't even get one rep, while in theory I should have gotten 2-3 reps.
4. Being fat doesn't affect your mobillity as much as being jacked
Very surprised, I was more mobile at 240 lbs than I was at 205lbs. I'm also more flexible.
