I think the inconsistency in these types of statements are causing some members to doubt hard bitten's authenticity.

Is she an IT specialist and a bartender living in Canada who has been accepted to Law School in Los Angeles? She will be studying "in" UCLA? Help me out lawyers, does one "major" in family law when they go to law school? Or do they choose to specialize somewhere down the road?

Tips on your bedroom? Is she living at home? How old? Consistent grammatical problems. I'm just sayin...

I hope you get accepted. I can't believe they haven't let you know yet. My daughter is entering University this fall and I've already made the first payment before she cracks a book :xeye:

Sassy69. Ma'am if you are unemployed I can only guess that it's because you've decided to take a little break from working.

I don't suppose that it's too hard for an experienced professional with an undergrad degree in Physics plus a masters degree to find work!

:( im still being hopeful!
Good Luck to your daughter!
I think your daughter will soon realize that is that hardest part is staying in school not accepted in school

How can they not let you know by now? If you were trying to get housing, etc you'd ge screwed. What if you wanted to attend an alternate school? I'm sure the deadlines have passed. You would have been required to make a deposit already.

Even if you were on the alternate list they would not leave you hanging like this. If you are talking about waiting to hear about acceptance for this fall (i.e., September 06) admission to UCLA Law School, I'm afraid I'm tempted to call BS

I got 2 masters! (that would explain my lack of social life in my 20s & 1/2 my 30's  )

I'm in the process of orchestrating a move to the west coast so its going slow. And yes, I did need a break. Just once I'd like to find a balance between work & life. I'm working w/ a career transition company to help network into a good job instead of just bombing Monster.com w/ my resume. I'm very positive tho. Its a really exciting time to be in tech and I hope I can work my way into something solid in the next couple months. Its also nice to just see a stronger tech market in general. The last 5 yrs have just been a beeyotch.

You should call them and tell them to let you know one way or the other. If you don't get into UCLA will you try somewhere else?

From what I've seen and heard the headhunter is much more effective than online services like Monster, especially if you're relocating.

Good luck!

I work for an executive search company. People need to understand most headhunters are paid by the company doing the hiring. That means their motivation is filling a job, not getting YOU a job. They are not motivated to shop you around to different employers. They are motivated to please the paying client and she may or may not be a way of doing that.
You will get much better exposure on a job board like Monster. Since moving to Cali in 98 I have gotten 4 out of 5 jobs thru Monster, not including another job I took then turned down to take the one I have now. I recently unhid my Monster profile just for kicks. I get calls almost everyday for some pretty good positions.
