As for your other movie selection...finally something we can agree upon. I loved that movie...but that doesn't mean that I wish I was living in the civil war.

i loved the scene where they steal the fat from the liposuction clinic and spill it on themselves .. that was priceless
to everyone who thinks its stupid because Pitt and Norton are too small to win a fight, thats not the point .. Pitt got beat up by the owner of the bar but he wouldn't give in even though he was getting the shit beat out of him. eventually it revolted the owner so much HE capitulated.
i was going to try to explain the point about what they learnt but if you didn't get it yet theres little chance i'm going to fix that. suffice to say, i dont think its meant to be realistic, but more a study of what happens when you go past society's boundaries and stop giving a fuck, and also of cult behaviour

Fight Club sucked. It was brain candy for those who only time-share their brains.
The same people who like this movie probably drool over all the MTv Production movies, and other movies aimed at the 12-22 year old demographic. I'd be willing to bet the folks who liked this movie also thought Fast and Furious was awesome.
Fight Club has no intristic value other than watching some psychotic traveling salesman go off the deep end. It doesn't reflect on today's society or the mindset of of middle-class men.
It's one of those movies gives lets pseudo-intellectual pre-teens something to think about other than banging the girl next to him in study hall.
