What is the stupidest gym advice you have ever heard?

The best was the 2 chinese "power lifters" who came into the gym today. There was a man and a woman both in their mid 40's with matching spandex and sweat bands. Each must have been 250 with 30 percent bf +. The woman seemed to be instructing the man on how to correctly powerlift. First for about 6 sets each they did some half squats with the bar and I thought they were getting tired because they kept spotting each other. Nobody needed to see that. For their last 4 sets they really surprised me, they stuck on 2.5 lb. plates on each side and got out 4 reps of half squats.
 
"I don't get it, I can't put on size.... I'm doing 30 minutes of weights 3 times a week and 60 minutes of cardio 5 days a week... What gives???"

...all I could do is shake my head and walk away...
 
"Don't Use Steroids" " That's Cheating." Hate them Bastards. Like you don't have to lift if you juice. Come the Fuck on.

right. like you go in the gym and do squats on monday and wake up tuesday looking like markus.... pussies.

and i HATE watching people dead with gloves and wrist straps.

worst advice ever, and i listened to it...
I finally found a tri exercise that was putting some size on me. weighted dips. dude was like, your going to fcuk your shoulders up doin that shiat. given it is a possability, but with correct form and focus, its no more dangerous than any other lift. stopped doin em for like 3 months... minimal growth, started doin em again a month ago... big difference. lesson, do what you know works for you.
 
"you need to avoid the complex carbohydrates such as bread and pasta"..half right I admit,and this comes form the know-it-all gym owner..I saw a sheet he had printed up to help the new people with thier diets..in addition to him not knowing that the complex carbs are the veggies etc.,he had so many of the different carb types cross mixed..the sheet was a nightmare...also our gym is full of the cardio people whose physiques never change appreciably over time..wonder where they are getting their advice from?

did that asshole say that in his country they don't use chemicals (i'm assuming he was talking abt juicing).
i am IN india and here every 2nd guy going to the gym juices his ass off- juice is available OTC here- eg- sus 250mg for3$.

i think u guys have covered almost every kind of dickhead in gyms.

"if u want to bulk up, don't do cardio"

"ur calves r big only bcoz of genetics- not bcoz u played soccer or bcoz u were a distance runner"
those were told to me by the 130lb trainer when i was starting off.

"juice and in 3 mths u'll be huge and ripped"

"6 mths on protein supplements will make u huge"
told to me by guys who had never seen the inside of a gym.

"beef makes u put on fat, not muscle"

"be careful- ur too muscular. if u take a break from the gym ur muscle will turn to fat."

"i wish i was like that fat guy- he has something to start off with. he can convert his fat into muscle."
told to me by some pencil neck- 5ft11, 125lbs!

and here r some other gems...
the pharmacy guy trying to sell me andriol- "don't use sus- here take andriol- 1 cap ED for 6mths and u'll be huge."

"nandrolone makes ur upper body huge but shrinks ur legs"

"u eat too much- u'll accumulate fat. i want to put on lean muscle without any fat".

i've probably heard many more but can't remember right now.
 
Cardio certainly doesn't help when bulking IMHO.

Actually there is truth to extensive use (years) of nandrolone having an adverse effect on the lower body.
