What is the stupidest gym advice you have ever heard?

agreed there is some truth abt nandrolone having an adverse impact on the lower body- but it is hyped in the sense that moderate use will hardly make a difference.
and cardio is a must in a bulking cycle IMO. obviously it should be less than in a cutting cycle but i don't think it is right to avoid it altogether.

It's bad to workout longer than an hour! You're over working yourself any longer than that!!! I laughed and told him that I'm not circuit training!

That's actually true. You do not want to be in a catabolic state for that long. Better to haev 2 45-minute sessions followed by high GI, fast protein than one 1.5 hour session.

" I dont do heavy squats or deads cause I dont wanna get to big."
right. like you go in the gym and do squats on monday and wake up tuesday looking like markus.... pussies.

and i HATE watching people dead with gloves and wrist straps.

worst advice ever, and i listened to it...
I finally found a tri exercise that was putting some size on me. weighted dips. dude was like, your going to fcuk your shoulders up doin that shiat. given it is a possability, but with correct form and focus, its no more dangerous than any other lift. stopped doin em for like 3 months... minimal growth, started doin em again a month ago... big difference. lesson, do what you know works for you.

Why can't I use gloves and straps when I deadlift. I mean I dont us ehtme until I need them, but eventually during my workout the weight gets too heavy for me to hold.

that's right- i know some guys who r somewhere in the region of 230-250lbs who don't train longer than 45 mins. i used to train for 1.5-2hrs a day at one time- no injuries but i felt like shit. now i try to keep my most intense workout within 1 hr. i feel better and the results are better on or off cycles.

Well I can see your point, I never thought of it that way. But I don't have time to train twice a day so I have one long 1-1and a half hour session. I feel great, I sweat my ass off, have trouble moving when done and I go home and eat my ass off. I guess if you don't have all the 'extra help' running through you it's not a good idea, but I grow and continue to grow doing what I do, so there's a slim chance I'll change it.

Dude, there are seven days in a week. Are you saying 7 hours a week of lifting weights isn't enough, that you need 10.5? Unless you are a genetic freak AND on grams of gear a week you are over training.

You should be able to grow just fine on 5 45 minute workouts a week. Even that would be overtraining for me but I'm going to guess that would be a step down for you. Try it.

Seriously, 4 one hour sessions will probably be even better.

You don't need to do more than about 4-6 sets per bodypart per workout to grow. I don't know what you're doign or training for but if it's BBing then that's all you need.

not so much bad advice, things that annoy me down the gym....

fat bastards doing just sit ups thinking they are gonna get ripped.

people leaving the gym and lighting up a ciggy (whats up with that?!!)

people curling weights they clearly cant handle, stumbling all over the place and swinging back and forth. - fuckers.

THAT guy who hovers around the bench waiting for you to finish - only when he gets on it he does fuck all and lifts hardly anything.

people staring at you while you are working hard - maybe if they spent less time staring and more time working out they might look a bit more like you!

anyone trying to strike up a conversation WHILE you are midway through a set (gym instructors love doing this)

and the winner "..yeah, i used to be as big as you but i lost it cos i had an accident/ i stopped working out/ my girlfriend didnt like me being that big/ im a big fat liar. "

HAHA....
People always stare at me cause im sweating and lifting hard....

"Dont get such a wide grip, you wanna narrow it up and work your chest more" (bench press)

Well, test is made from androstendione (or diol) and it IS a liver enzyme that is responsible for the transformation, a CYP450. Where do you suppose one could find liver enzymes......?
