What is the main difference......

OKIE

between glutamine and glucosamine chondroitin. I take glutamine after my workout, but I also bought some pills for the morning that contain 1000mg of glucosamine sulphate, 800mg of chondroitin sulfate, & 800mg of MSM(methylsulfonylmethane). Thanks for the help!

The difference between glutamine and glucosamine chondroitin is the same as the difference between Vitamin A & Vitamin B complex and so on
Glutamine is metabolized via mitochondrial phosphate-dependent glutaminase
it's much like the relation between Glutmine & Glutathione

When is the best time to take Glutamine?, and how many mg's for optimal gains?

Grams not Milligrams.

Aim for 20+/day if training intensely. If consuming a good protein drink, it should already contain adequate amounts.

Glucosamine and chrondiotin are excellent for sore joints, because they help to rebuild the cartilage, if taken on a daily basis. I find the glutamine reduces the ache i feel the following days after a workout, i think its the most abundant amino in the body aswell, i could be wrong though.

Are you serious? 20 grams of glutamine/day! I've read 8-10 grams is plenty! Anyone else got something on this?

Just depends on body weight, Iron games a big bloke. Not sure of an exact amount per Lb of bodyweight, but im sure someone will know.

20 grams/day, it is an amino acid, protein, helps with stress and will help your body against infections and illness. As I said it is in most quality product protein shakes so you will get more than enough 20+ grams/day if you are living up to adequate protein consumption.

PS I read that 200mgs of Vitamin C a day was enough, so now I only ever buy a multi vit mineral with no more than 200mgs of vit c. Yeah Right

I know what you mean, but I'm not talking about reading it in Men's Health. I read it before on this board, so I was just curious if it was based on bodyweight or what. I believe my post-workout shake from Protein Factory contains 8g of glutamine peptides, so I wasn't sure if I needed to add more or not.

glucosamine sulphate is used to help repair injured cartalige in your joints....therefore it will aid in sore joints and so-on

Glucosamine is a sugar amino .... glucose + glutamine .... this amino attaches itself to the joints ....
chrondiotin and MSN are 2 other joint supps ...

see

www.flexamin.com

the most powerful supp for the joints ... and I mean awesome !!! I take it 3x a day
