What is the highest paying job you can think of?

Humm...there's CEO's that make a couple million a year, not including stock options.

I think realistically, business owners are the ones who rake in the cash. I met a guy a few months ago who owns an online retail store...he had just spent twenty million dollars renovating the inside of his 747. That motherfucker gets paid, I tell ya.

BTW, astronauts only make $60-$100K a year. :)

Ever seen a HBO movie about Jay Leno/David Letterman battle? Trent Williams portayed Michael Eisner as a shrewd and cunning businessman. I'm sure that's how he makes money. If you want to stay at the top, you have to play the game.

Ummmm....I think $60K is about right. I was at a lecture with one of the astronauts and someone asked how much they made....I think she said around $60K during training and then $100K if they got picked to fly.

What really surprised me was learing that thier life insurance costs five million dollers a DAY while they're in space. Of course, the government picks up the tab. :)

I have a few friends that are investment bankers. they aren't even at partner and they make buttfuckloads of money.

first few years you just don't sleep, then it gets easier, and more $$ after that.

I envy the money, but I don't envy the hours or the lifestyle that they have to keep - hard to get to the gym if you work that much.
 
Astronauts are often from the military so their pay scale is based on rank and time of service, with some bonuses. 90-125K.

CEO Sandy Weill of Citigroup made $775Million two years ago. eisner's actual salary is several million dollars. He has earned as much as $300Million in a year.

Oracle founder Larry Ellison cashed out $1Billion of his own stock in the last year.

The way to be super rich is to stat your own business, and sell something everyone uses. It;s that simple. :)

The vast majority of individual start up companies fail. I can't remember the percentage, but it is very high.
 
I'd like to be part of the Mars family. That whole company is owned by a few family members... like 4 or so.

There is some money there.
 
CEO, if you have lots of stock in a company that your a CEO at (like Mike Dell, Larry Ellison) then even more cash.

Astronauts are military officers with flight pay. Really just pilots who passed additional testing. Probably most of them Captain, Lt. Col., or Col. Job doesn't pay too well. Prestige is hard to beat.
 
Entertainers are the highest paid. I got drunk with an agent. He dumped Troy Aikman and Emmit Smith etc. because it doesn't compare to rock and roll bands. He has a couple bands, they make about a million a night. Probably 4 hours work...fun to.
 
Con-artist. With only 600,000,000 intelligent people in the world, there is plenty of money to be made.

Finance can still be good, and it's not impossible to break into. My kittle sister and I are both state school grads working on wall street. She just completed her first year at citi after undergrad and total comp was $130k. Not bad at 23.
 
Private defense contractors make between 110,000 - 300,000 per year depending on their skill set, background, and work duties. You get raped in taxes, but wise investments help a great deal.
