if someone is doing dumbbell bicep curls one arm alternating or both arms at the same time....... why not save time and do them both at the same time ?, what is with all this iso stuff ? someone please explain !!!

sometimes i see people on hammer strength shoulder press machines doing them on shoulder at a time ? makes no sense to me

I like to alternate with dumbells when I curl. Just feels better to me. Maybe since it allows me to concentrate on each arm more, and move more weight then if I did them at the same time. As for the pressing movements on the plate loaded machines, I dont see the point. Seems like it would put excess pressure on one side of the body, especially with the heavier weights.

If you alternate arms, it extends out the set and you'll probably get more reps, that could be why some people subconsciously (or consciously) like it.

Seems to me that alternating can force you to completely lower the weight....much easier to cheat ROM if you don't alternate.

I like alternating Bi curls if I'm seated or on incline...but when standing, I do both arms togther....

Like WB, just feels better to me.....

The "big guys" almost always alternate arms...
