What is the difference between clomid and nolvadex

I've just been looking into these two drugs for PCT. Both seem to bind to Oestrogen receptors and thus prevent the effects of elevated levels of Oestrogen. If the mode of action is the same, why, in most PCT course do we mix the two???? They seem like very similar drugs except for the fact that Nolvadex is active at lower doses. Im confused!!!!

I already have, and hence the reason i know they are very similar drugs. I understand their mode of action, what confuses me i why PCT consists of both - they act in the same way, or at least appear to.

nolva is much stronger at fixing estrogen gyno, and also whatever anyone tells you increases natural test production. there are a million places you can learn this

Yeah, im sure there are, and i am already aware of what you are saying. My question is simple, if both drugs act in the same way, i.e. both bind to Estrogen receptors and block eostrogen exerting it's effect - WHY DOES PCT CONTAIN BOTH, surely one or the other would do.

Thank you, i've already read that page. Not sure i totally agree with it, and if you read it, it underlines my point even more, it states that the two drugs are essentially the same. Does anyone actually know why PCT courses are composed of both, or do people simply do it because it's what other people have done to high degrees of success????

hrmm probably b/c the two are actually the same? PCT involve both because people actually believe that they r different drugs.. but in reality they are almost identical except clomid needs to be dosed higher then nolvadex... nolvadex is like the new clomid -- fewer sides and lower doses

Both work through slightly different mechanisms, and although they achieve the same things, there are slight differences as well. I'm not totally sure right now which ones these are. Try the PCT forum for more information.
