What is the best excercise ?

I agree with moving this to training board.

Best chest exercise may depend on the individual.

Guys who have a protruding sternum are more anatomically built for pressing. You'll see guys who have a breast plate that looks like the bottom of a boat. These guys have a tremendous advantage for benching because the pecs are more involved. Since their pecs are more involved, they also grow more from this type of exercise; their is a greater muscular ROM, more pectoral involvement, and more pectoral stimulation. These guys are just built for benching.

Dumbells have a few advantages:
greater stretch
greater muscular range of motion

For guys with a narrower breastplate, the difference in the muscular range of motion for db's may be more significant. This is because the flat-breastplated-lifter, in comparison to the barrel-chested lifter, gets much less pec involvement with a bench press, but with a db press, he gets only a little less ROM compared to the barrel chested lifter.

For your barrel-chested lifter, the concentration and balance required to perform DB presses may take away from the ability to exert sheer force, making BB benches the better choice.

really why are there even other forums ? this really just wastes space here........training board would be a great place for this question

Size does not come from a particular exercise. It comes from the amount of weight you use and the amount of fast twitch muscle fibers you have.

The best chest exercise for chest, overall, is forward hunched dips.

Maybe its true that a particular exercise wont yield better results than another if the weight used is relative. But, some exercises allow you to use more weight, like flies vs. press. So while the weight is what makes you grow (and form), the particular exercise that you can do enough weight with good form will make a difference.

exactly 'incline for lower pecs' whoever said that I wonder??? RADAR.

Dont you mean 'decline' for lower pecs, 'incline' is for upper pecs...i'm sure thats what RADAR meant, lol :D

Anyway, use dumbells for chest presses on a flat bench and incline bench.

Dumbells give you wider range of motion, balance and requires more effort to lift = growing pecs, ;)

Also, do some straight arm pullovers for the pecs to give the stretch and widens the rib cage. In time, you'll have great big concrete slabs os pecs sitting in front of you. you even might be able to sit a bowl of cereals on it for breakfast
:eek2:
