What is everyone's point on Abortion?

Weapon X

What a genius you are! Go right to the head of the Liberal class.
Wait until your wife s pregnant, and ultrasound allows you to see the little 'parasite' moving around and sucking its thumb.
Then thank God that your momma didn't abort you.

Who is the government to tell a woman what she can do with her body?

You damn rightwing extremists.

I have a cousin who is spending $30,000 for an adopted child from Columbia. And they have been saving for this for five years, so they are NOT extremely wealthy. His wife happens to be unable to bear children. There are MANY more people who share this unfortunate circumstance. I think that if you are damn dumb enough to have unprotected sex and knock a girl up, the two of you should agree to have the child carried full term and give it up for adoption if it is "inconvenient" for your life at that point. If the preventative measures that you and your partner undergo fall short in stopping a pregnancy, I still believe that the baby should be allowed to live.

(Don't ask me about the rape thing, that is in the raped woman's court)

When the magic of procreation occurs not only is a human being immediately created, but a soul is also born.

I think more anal sex and less vaginal will make abortions irrelevant. Just watch where your sticking it, and she wont need one.

unless she is all dried up like granny, you can stick it anywhere in her and she wont get pregnant.

I don't like the labels "pro-life" and "pro-choice'.

Personally, I belive life begins at conception. There's absolutly no scientic evidence to prove this, but it's just something I feel is true. Until medical science proves otherwise, I'll keep on thinking this way.

However, a good friend of mine had an abortion a few years ago and I've never considered her to be evil or morally corrupt. The emotional pain she went through was horrible....it wasn't just some spur of the moment decision...she agonized over this for a quite a while. In fact, it still bothers her. If some asshole ever called her a baby killer I'd beat his fucking ass to the brink of death.

That being said, I also think people on both ends of the the pro-life/choice spectrum are totally fucking nuts.

I've also never had to deal with abortion on a personal level...if you know what I mean, so I'm not really quialified to talk about it.

Carry the little feller full term and give "it" up for adoption. Don't tell me that is too tramatic for the mom to know that her child is somewhere out there. At least she can know that it is alive!

I am against it. I can understand years ago why a girl would have felt desperate enough to have an abortion. At one time a girl that was pregnant would be branded a whore and her child a bastard. In this more liberal and excepting day and time a pregnacy is more an inconvenience than anything. Like someone said earlier there are many people that would love to have a child but cannot for whatever reason. If a girl does find herself pregnant because neither party used protection (guys it is much your responsiblity as hers) then she can make someone happy and give her baby a chance at life instead of aborting it. I would however never make someone feel bad if they had chosen to have an abortion....from what I have read most all who have chosen to have an abortion have plenty of guilt on their own w/o me adding to it.

Pro-Life

I believe that women should be incontrol of their body. I think they should consider the fact that they might get pregnant if they have sex. If they are not maried and dont want a kid than they are taking that chance. I believe people should be held responsible for their actions---and I dont believe disposal of a life is ok if it is not convenient to have a little one around.

Wake up America!---You are killing your' young---the very ones you are suppose to hold dearest.

Huntmaster---member: vast right wing conspiracy.

I am against it personally, but will not interfare with a womens right to have one as long as its legal.

I feel that since a women as the power to decided if she wants to have the child or an abortion I think that a man should also have a choice. Currently if a women has a baby she can go after the father legally and make him pay child support, or face possible jail time-even if he was against the birth. Thats bullshit. The guy should be able to go to court and have all responsibilities dropped. If she gets to have a choice, then so should he.

Until the damn thing can survive without me (ie if it could survive if it was pulled out and yammed into an incubator) then it's still a part of my body and I'll do what I like with my body. I'm sure everyone here who bodybuilds (and is therefore in control of their body for better or worse) understands.

It remains my responsibilty that if I don't want to keep it that I don't let things get that far. If I do then I should carry it full term and then if I don't think I'll make a good mum let someone else love it/adoption.

Must take responsibilty for your own body.

Im personally not for it, don't condone it, would leave my gf if she did it without telling me. But I don't really think its my right to tell some lady whom I don't know what they can and can't do. They have to just live with teh mental consequences afterwards

IM ALL FOR ABORTION....................ITS NOT A SELF SUFFICENT CREATURE YET....................

PLUS KIDS UNPLANNED AND UNWANTED,GROW UP UNLOVED.

Lots of inner-city single teen moms and their parasite children do nothing but "feed off their [government]" and "provide nothing."

I suggest we abort them.

Oh wait, that doesn't count? I thought we were trying to kill parasites here. Let's not be hypocritical, k?

Despite much propaganda to the contrary, research shows that women who have had an abortion have no mental trauma. Most actually feel stronger for the experience because they feel they have "overcome" something in their lives and that they are in control.

I think someone made this point on the women's board a long while ago. It negates the mental "scarring" argument anyway.

i am for it

it's the woman's choice, it's her life. Not everybody has the oppertunity to carry a child for 9 months either. It is not that simple.
Furthermore it is not THAT woman's responsibility that other persons cannot have children.

For the record, if my mother would have had an abortion i would not be here. So? Who cares, i wasn' t here the past 10 000 000 years either and i didn't miss it.

So all comes down to what the woman in particular wants.

While I think abortion is basically murder, we live in a world filled with murder. We live in a society where hand guns and the death penalty are legal. Why not keep abortion legal.

I'm not pro-choice, I'm pro death.

I actually think those under a certain level of intelligence should be "put to sleep" in this country. We should start checking state by state. The first on starts with an M and is on the east coast above Virginia. Let's begin now.

well, im pretty right wing, but under certain circumstances i believe a woman should have the right to an abortion..

on the other hand, with birth control and condoms, i really dont see the point for most women to be allowed abortions. if you go to the right place, birth control is cheap...... my last girl was on b/c and i still wore a condom.... why? better safe than sorry.

im willing to bet money you are wrong on this...... dont think it is propaganda, i have seen it first hand from friends girls that have had abortions....

Why do women get to chose to kill their babies legally, but everyone else cannot chose whether or not to kill themselves, use drugs, gamble, etc.? Most of the politicians who adovcate "women's right to chose" are the same of stealing everyones right to chose where their money goes.

If they're from the middle east and militant islamic- abort the fucker

CHOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Uh YAh.

I would LOVE to see, er, read your views on rape.

I imagine, in your head, that would make you stronger as well?

http://www.w-cpc.org/abortion/emotion.html

(i like this quote)

Still, other women report that the pain of abortion, inflicted upon them by a masked stranger invading their body, feels identical to rape

of course that is probably an anti-abortion site masquerading as an information depot.

http://www.sciencenews.org/20000819/fob4ref.asp

has an opposite opinion.

i have no opinion on the issue. and i can't condemn or endorse either because there are too many variables that are different for each persons mind (what constitutes a baby, how valuable is life, how valuable is free will, etc) i don't care enough to get 1 set idea then stick with it.

sorry, but religion has nothing to do with it

if a girl is raped then i am for it,otherwise it is against my religion

Leave religion out of this please.
This is the 21th century. No more religions from way back, no more kings and princes.
This is all from thousands of years ago and should not be an issue today.

The world changes everyday, but only religion stays as it was, believe this or not. A million years from now and we still will have Muslims, Chirstians who believe in something that should never have been.

Up until that last post, this thread was boring but kept to the question, "what is YOUR view on abortion".

It's only gonna get hot and bothered if you all start trying to argue it; besides that's already been visited last month.
