What Inspires You ????

My inspiration is my Son Sean. He has type 1 Diabetes we found out when he was four and he is now Five. He is not only my Inspiration but my hero and my best friend. I will never forget the day my wife and I found out he had diabetes that moment put a permanent hole in my heart. We had to spend a whole week in the hospital with him.
He started kindergarten this year and loves it. The other day he came home and was really quiet and went into his room so I followed him and asked him what was wrong. He immediately broke down and started crying and said he wanted to be normal and didn’t want any more shots I had to pull him close so he would not see me cry because I am supposed to be the strong one right. I told him they are working on a cure and someday you won’t have to take shots anymore. I wish it could be been instead of him I pray everyday and ask god to let me carry my son’s burdens. May God walk with my son during the times I can not. God Bless

I have a son who is 6. He has a 50%ish chance of complete kidney failure, and has had this condition since before he was born. While I can't empathize with you and your situation, I do understand how fragile life really is - and how the pain of a small child can break your heart.

Your son is young and cannot understand right now. In time, he'll overcome this and it will be "just part of life" for him.

My mom inspires me. Even when she was in such excruciating pain that touching her made her moan in pain, she was still trying to make everyone know how much she loved them.

Her last words were to me. I said, "I'm sorry Mommy. I would never hurt you on purpose" I was trying to change her sheets with her still in the bed, and moving her was very painful to her. She let out a whishper and said, "I know. I love you my sweet baby girl."

To be that sick and still to think of herself second is inspiring. I miss her so much.
