What if Jesus came back?

For anyone wondering...yes, I am a very strong Christian. I was wondering this tonight though, while watching a movie about Jesus's life on television.

If Jesus came back tomorrow and roamed the Earth...would he be accepted or put in jail or killed? Just imagine how hard it would be to meet someone who called himself Jesus, Son of God, and belive him.

Maybe if we all met him, we would just know that it was true...hopefully.

Can you imagine what our government, among others, would do to a man who seemingly "ruled the world"?

Just looking for some thought here.

He would probably come back in such a way so that no one would recognize him.
I would want to meet him and learn from him.

i thought when he comes back it will only be for the rapture, not to be back on earth as a normal person like back in the day.
 
He would show the world how to live.

He would show them love.

He would have a lot of follower's that believed in his way of life.

He would then be persecuted, and then killed by humans. Most likely in this day and age, it would be by the Christians, rather than the Roman Cathlolics.

History repeats itself. The people that consider themselves to be pure that are in charge of a country or anything great, are actually quite evil and hold ill-will to anyone that offer's something greater than they do.

Jesus had the above happen to him. Whether you believe Jesus to be THE son of man, or a son of man, like you and myself, is irrelevant... what isn't is the truth. Someone in high power, that is worried about control and power would have him killed, just as they did Jesus.

Things would be no different today.

I forgot to mention... after they've killed him, they would see his ideaology... and then create one of the largest money making business's in the history of mankind.

Not only that, they'd also make a piece of jewelry, this piece of jewelry will be the highest money maker ever in jewelry history... a symbol in which show's the ultimate sacrifice Jesus made for us... and that would be the method in which they killed him... a crucifix.

After they realized the great power they could use standing behind the man, they would say 'this is the only way.' They would twist many words around. 'I am the way' would be translated to a point that if you do not believe in me, and me alone, you will be thrown into a pit of hell. They wouldn't explain that Jesus meant his way of life is the way. His understanding of life and love is the way.

They would also twist the words 'I am the son of man' to help their business. They wouldn't inform us that you and I are also the son of man, and also have the capabilities to live as great as Jesus.

They would then twist truth from reality and use miracles to convince people of their business. They would use the term 'For I was once blind, and now I can see.' They wouldn't explain that the man was once blind to his hatred and ignorance and love for the world... rather, they would explain that he was a blind man... forgiven of his sin's and now able to see again.

They would misconstrue his words, write a book, and start the biggest business ever in the history of mankind.

And anyone that didn't believe their words, well they'd be sorted out in the crusades.

I have no idea what would happen. Depends on how he conducted himself I suppose.

He already came back. He's an Israeli acidhead/techno-freak/house junkie who organizes beach raves in Tel-Aviv. He's a pretty cool guy; keeps a low profile.

I think it is kind-of strange how all the paintings of him that I have ever seen show him being a white guy. That cant be being the region of the world he was from. Any thoughts on this?
 
B fold... I want to clarify that from your posts, I think you are a good man with great values.

I'm not trying to unconvince you of your religion, or trash it.

I think anyone that believes in something, no matter the dogma, so long as it is constructive and loving, is a good person, and religion makes people strive to want to become greater people... and if there is a heaven, I believe they would be invited into heaven whether they believe one theory or another. I just really don't like a close-minded view. Religion has caused more death than anything else in the history of mankind... and that is simply because of people's closed mindedness. Jesus was certainly not like that.

I commend you for believing in your religion, and also for trying to find the truth. I also commend you, as I do anyone with a constructive religion, for spreading love throughout the world.

Because after all, that's all religion is, and that is all Jesus ever wanted.

Umm... I'll take a gander.

You can't worship a blackie when you're whipping the one in front of you rowing like a mofucker because for some reason the captain got a wild hair up his ass and felt like waterskiing. ;)

On the real though, like Siddhartha, Jesus was a real man... there is no denying his existance or wisdom... and he happened to be a white man. I'm not saying white's are better than black's or vice versa... however, back in that day and age, as a black man, you certainly couldn't have done all the things Jesus did. It wouldn't have been possible.

It would have had to have been saved for a more fitting era... such as the 1960's.

Man, what a question. I must say that I really dont know--but I would love to walk with Him like the desciples did---in the flesh.

I will say one thing for sure though. Christianity is about a relationship with Christ. It is like no other 'religion' around. I understand that it gets thrown into a big category of 'religions' but when this happens, we're talk'n apples and oranges--really.

Christ gave his life once for all of us. He will do it again to save what is left of the Christians.
 
If he came back, Janet Reno & the ATF would set fire to his compound and burn all of his followers alive.

Actually, everyone is the son/daughter of God, not just Jesus, Jesus' perfection came from knowing God completely. If He came back, it would not to be to rule the world, it would be to help others find themselves and there meaning by setting examples on how to live. Jesus' comes back every day, every night, every minute, every second, His teachings, ideas, actions, reactions, etc live amongst many on this earth, He is brought back many, many times during a day. peace

I'm sorry manny... but how do you figure?

That's not what happened the last time.

Don't you think history would repeat itself... and that he would be killed by those hungry for power, and by those that would fear he would divert their power and people away from them?

Don't you think he'd be killed by people in high power, the same one's that consider themselves religious and pure? Again.
