Hello,

I weight about 160lb and consume about 1200 calories a day..

im not losing strength. im losing lots of fat i eat 4 times a day

no cardio

lift 3-4 times a week (starting doggcrapp method and loving it)

the main thing i do is drink 3scoops of nlarge after teh workout then 30mins later 40g of whey then eat dinner then drink 40g of whey b4 bed.

now i know this is not perfect but its workin for me... my lifts are going up and ab fat es melting off really quickly...

i eat carbs in teh am and post workout.. i might cut the am carbs out...

what do u think? what should i change first to increase results?

thanks

At 1200 cal you'll lose muscle AND fat

it is not enough

I`ve been eating 800-1,000 kcals a day(once in a while I eat like 1,200) for about 9-10 weeks. My diet has been keto(no carb ups) the whole time. I want to see if I can gain muscle at 10X bodyweight, and in order to do this I needed to slow down my metabolism. If it works, I can eat fewer kcals for the rest of my life, and still make gains in LBM.
- It`s hard to say just how much muscle mass I`ve lost. 5'8", 170 lbs when I started. I was at a higher BF when I started. At a guess, 12%BF. I know, I should have mesured it, but I couldn`t get it done by a reliable person. I`m under 10% now. And with deflated muscles, I look smaller than I should. But I`ve only lost a total of about 10lbs(haven`t checked in the last 3 weeks. I lost those in the first 4 weeks, and it hadn`t changed the next several weeks times I checked).
- I`m smaller than most guys on here though. And I`m largely Mesomorphic, so together, with a keto diet(which is great for sparing LBM), those factors are helping me mantain muscle mass. I also had used Sodium usinate to help lower metabolism(didn`t do jack for me fat loss wise). My strength is definetly down. I think this has more to do with lack of avalible energy than muscle loss though. I want to continue for another couple of weeks, and then up my calories and see if I can gain, or atleast get back to where I was.

Listen to Anthrax. If your body-fat is somewhat high you can get away with doing 1000 calorie diets and not losing too much muscle but eventually you will pay the price and its not fun. If your doing Keto you MUST get at least 150g protein per day otherwise you WILL lose muscle regardless.

thanks guys.. in the last 3 weeks ive lost about 10 lbs and my weights havent gone down.. im actually looking bigger... but im going to start up the calories now... i always make sure that post workout i get a ton of carbs and protein and then another protein shake then a good meal afterwards... i think that is helpin me a great deal...

my money is on you looking bigger simply because the muscle is more defined due to less fat.
