What happened to Stone Cold?

Anybody know what happened to stone cold? Is he doing more book signings or did he quit vacation or what? I think raw is suckin right now. They need to come up with some better stories. Smack down is a little better right now IMO. Is Big Show coming back?

Steve Austin's (Williams) contract expired in April of this year because he and the WWE could not come to terms on a new deal. The word going around is that the WWE wanted $$ from the outside of WWE projects that Stone Cold did because they own that name. Austin refused and the deal did not get done (a 7 figure deal I might add). I have heard he was negotiating with New Japan Pro Wrestling (they pay mid six figures for one time appearences, unlike WWE) as is other wrestlers that have recently left (ie Goldberg). I have not been in touch with people for a few weeks, so this deal could have already been finished by the time you read this. Many say Austin will eventually either go back to WWE (because he only has a few more years left and no one in America at this time can pay like McMahon can) or if the rumor about Ted Turner starting something next year when his none compete is up is true, Austin would get $$$$ from Turner. My guess is that he will go back to WWE and finish his career there. With the recent (and not so recently) lack of writing talent, Austin is needed badly. So they could pay Austin mid 7 figures or $50 grand for a better writer......My money is on Austin because McMahon thinks wrestlers draw ratings, not writers. I think it is a 75/25, with the writers at 75%.

Austin needs to give a rub to new guys. In my opinion when he was on he was being wasted. I always though that he and Rob Van Dam would make a good team. If they somehow got he and RVD together and had Austin manage him or be his mentor, I think it would make for some hilarious moments. With RVD's laid back attitude and Ausin's over the top agression, it would be funny watching them play off of each other.
