What do you think about ProteinFactory?

mrt

and their protein powders? If you ordered from them, what do you think? Did any of you order custom mixes? If so, what was your mix?

i ordered once from them. I bought the low carb formula for men with CLA. I expected the cla to be crushed into a fine poweder and evenly distributed through out the powder. I was sadly mistaken. There were pebble rock size bits of CLA and this stuff would never dissolve in the shake. I was really disappointed with that formula. I have heard other people say really good things about their other formulas. But lets just say that i'm willing to spend a little extra cash and by something off the shelf that blends better.

Problems with competence & attitude!

About July 23rd, I talked with Alex (the owner? of P.F.) and told him I needed CFM Whey Isolates for my father who has ESRD (End Stage Renal Dysfunction). He quoted me prices and turned me over to Eva, his assistant. I ordered 5lbs (1 lb ea. of choc, van. orange, banana, and unflavored). Eva quoted me shipping for UPS Ground, UPS 3day, and USPS Priority Mail. I chose Pr. Mail, since it was $5 cheaper than UPS 3day and my experience is that Pr. Mail takes only 2 to 3 days from the East Coast. Eva quoted me a total including the shipping and said my order would go out the next day.

After a week, I had not received my order. I called. Eva answered and said, "They had to wait until they went to the post office and that was just yesterday." I reminded her that she told me it would go out the next day and that the reason I chose and paid extra for Pr. Mail was to get it faster than UPS Ground. She put me on hold. Alex got on the line and told me, "We do each order custom and it can take up to a week to prepare." I told him that I wasn't told that. He said, "Well, it went out yesterday, so you'll get it in a few days." (It seems funny that a simple 5lb. order would take a week to prepare).

After another week, I still had not received the order. I tried calling Alex, but was told he was busy. So, I faxed Alex to complain about the non-receipt of my order. I stated what had already occurred and that I needed the protein to help my father with his kidney failure. Alex faxed me back. In a short sentence he half-apologized for the "inconveniences" and then spent 3 paragraphs going on about how this is going to cause "him" problems. He said that despite the "misunderstandings" I was going to get my protein. He said he "hoped I would understand the mishap." In a fax, I replied that if my shipment had gone out when I was told it would (and noted that his website states that all orders go out within 2 days), then I would have had the protein 10 days ago. I said I wouldn't be unreasonable and expect him to "overnight" it to me, but that I would appreciate it if he got it to me within 3 days, using whichever route he wanted (i.e., UPS 3day or USPS Pr. Mail).

Now STILL ANOTHER WEEK has gone by and I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED my order. Nor have I received any response from Alex. (This has all the hallmarks of a con. Fortunately, I paid with a MasterCard, so the charge will be reversed). I would advise anyone planning to do business with the Protein Factory to be very careful AND only pay by credit card.

Declare War

I always have the issuer of my Credit Card take care of the problems. I've only had 2 since I started ordering on line. A lot of these sites are nothing more than drop shippers. That's one of the excuses I got. One of the three warehouses that shipped the stuff screwed it up. But they didn't seem to know which one.

Of course I sent a couple of nice little mementos(booby traps) from anonymous addresses to screw up their computer. What satisfaction. I can just imagine what they were saying as they were cleaning up the mess. The next War will be held on the Internet. I was just practicing up on 'Deserving People' in preparation.

protein factory

I have used Protein Factory several times and I am mostly pleased with their products and service.

The last time I ordered, I went for the Breakfast Formula and noticed that on their web page it was listed as $6.38/lb, but on their secure order form page the same formula was listed as $5.11/lb.

So I placed my order, but in the comments section I asked to be notified for confirmation of the order if the price would be above $5.11/lb

They did not contact me, and simply charged me the higher price. I e-mailed Alex, but got no reply after a couple of weeks. So I complained to the PA State Attorney General's Office, and accused Protein Factory of wire fraud.

My credit card was promptly credited for the over-charge. I have not ordered anything since.

i personally have had good expeirience, but it seems that the concensus is that you would do better elsewhere, I guess I have been lucky, i presently am shopping around to find a new source of protein as a result of reading some negative posts about PF.com..I am more than likely going to try Mass Q.....
