What do you think about isopure?

I just polished off an 8 lb tub of isopure dutch choc. in @3 wks. The stuff taste great compared to other shakes I have had. It does have some carbs, 10 per shake I think, maybe less. But I can't believ how fast I went thru it!! 8 lbs in @3 wks!! 3-4 shakes a day 3 scoops per shake, loved it! But a little pricey, I went with 2 - 5lb natures best from prosource online. Saved @ $25.00 and sacraficed 10g prot. per shake.

So basically...If you can stomach isopure its an excellent source of protein...if you can't...then do what works for you? i personally put 2 spoonfulls of sugar into each drink and it does wonders...

BUT...i'm new to this stuff so i want to know when the best time to drink my proteins would be...Say i'm going to workout at 5:00

when should i drink? when i wake up or a few hours before i workout? and right after? BTW i'm on testosterone so my body will be takin advantage

I think that most people agree the ready to drink zero carb iso-pures are pretty bad. the powder you mix up or the rtd's with carbs aren't bad. when to drink or eat protein? all day! at least 2 gms per lb of body wt every day unless your really fat

...and when is the best time to drink protein...before or after a workout and how long before/after? thanks

The only real bennificial time to be drinking whey protein is post training with ample high GI carbs. Whey digests at light speed so it is a grand candidate for glycogenesis if it isn't consumed 1)with simple carbs 2) when a quick hit of protein is able to be absorbed...i.e. post training. Otherwise much of the amino acids are wasted through digestive prcesses or converted to meet glucose needs which means they can't be used for muscle repair. At all other times during the day your protein should be derrived from whole food sources. As for Isopure. I like it. Good quality and tastes fine.

Isopure is great stuff but it sticks to the bottom of glasses so bad that by dishwasher that gets the hardest grime off of pots can't get the shit off my glasses. I have to scrape it off with a knife!! I wonder what it's doing to my insides?!

Beezers: exactly what i was looking for thanks!

as for sticking to the bottom of glasses: haha yeah but in your body it doesn't get a chance to dry up...i try to put water in the glass after drinking.

isopure is the shiznit!!!! tastes great when mixed w/strawberries and bananas, if you want a shitty tasting protein drink.....then try lean body:sick:

I would stay with the Isopure protein for a solid protein source throughout the day, everyday along with whole proteins (foods). Any Isopure product though, is not a post-workout shake. This is accomplished by something with carbs and sugars. I find the only supplement on the market with the correct scientific ratios needed for post-training nutrition is Apex's LBM Gainer. It has 4:1 carb/protein ratio along with some fats and sugars to restore glycogen stores after your pump. Isopure does not do this, nor does any other whey, egg, or casenate proteins. You need carbs and sugars post-pump.

Good luck.
