What do you take to get HIGH GI Carbs & Protein after a workout?

I have been reading on some posts about post workout nutrition, and im wondering something: I know you should take a good amount of a high GI carb in, plus protein. Im curious.........what do you guys take? A carb drink and a protein shake right after it? Or do you prefer a type of food, like say, chicken, steak, ect for your protein? Im just wondering, because it just seems like a lot to take down at one time. Just wondering. :)
 
I take in around 100g of carbs post workout. I choose maltodextrin or glucose polymers. Both have a high GI. Along with it I have a whey protein drink with around 60-70G of protein. It would be very hard to replicate this post workout meal using solid foods. Also absorbtion will be delayed using solid foods which you don't want post workout...
 
Buy some maltodextrin or dextrose powder and then make it into a post workout drink with some protein, Lglutamine, and creatine and you are ready to go. I agree that it would be awfully hard to compare with regular foods because your body has to digest and then absorb. If worse comes to worse then just go out and buy some sugar filled drink mix, creatine, and protein powder and use that for an after workout boost.
 
i take 1/3 cup raisins, 3 cups skim milk and then my nenergy drink wich is 60g whey protein, 10g creatine and 50g maltodextrose. I take this stack 1-2h before work out and right after workout. I eat comblex carbs only pre and post workout.
