How do you guys train or eat when your sick. Cuz you know sometimes food is the last thing on your mind and so is lifting. Just wondering how you adjust your diet and schedule around being sick...??
Usually i lift when Im sick. What happens with me is once i start lifting I get in a zone and don't feel sick. However, once I stop lifting, I feel like shit lol
Everyone will tell you to take off until you feel better, but I personally lift through the sickness. I don't care, I ignore it. It's all mental, to me.
I only get sick about once a year, but when I do get sick I might take a day or two off, or just work through the sickness. Either way, I recover pretty fast and lifting during the sickness doesnt seem to make me stay sicker for longer.
yeah, i too don't get seriously sick that often. last time i was sick bad was probably from the flu a few years ago (before i started training). these days if i got a minor cold i just work through it. it's true if you're in the "zone" it doesn't affect you.
most drs suggest you dont train when you have a fever (execise will suppress your immune system), but its beneficial to train w/a cold- clears your sinuses (sounds yucky to me)
Ill usually continue to lift just as hard and take in alot of vitamin c. The thing it effects most is my appetite. Its hard enough to force all that food down and being sick makes it much more difficult.
depends what you have... i get sinus infections fairly often so i train right through them... other conditions such as vomiting or fever.... i probably wouldnt train with... diarreah.... def no leg day
