See a Dr., Bro...if it's bad you will need surgery...the shoulder is complex and it won't heal on its own...
I seperated my shoulder in a wrestling match in high school when I was 17. The Dr told me I'd never be able to compete in sports again w/o an operation. I didn't have insurance and my folks were broke so I didn't go under the knife. It's a good thing I didn't listen to him-I was benching 500lbs+ by the time I was 23.
In our culture we're taught to listen to Drs as if whatever they spit is the word of God. I say bullshit. A good portion of them are money grubbing crooks trying to capitalize off of their investment of time and $$$ in school. Another portion of them just plain suck(3rd world country education, incompetent, prone to misdiagnosis, etc). And then there's few decent ones that I'd only trust if they were my close personal friends. If the Dr doesn't have a personal interest in your well being, you're probably gonna get fucked. For most Drs your recovery will only lose them $$$. Aside from ethical perspectives, it's almost in their financial best interest to keep you fucked up. This goes the same for attorneys and car mechanics. If they're not your pal-you have no way of being sure you're not getting robbed.
I think it's even more ironic that my Dr takes juice and consults me (with my bad ass public high school education)on what he should take for a cycle. You'd think after so many yrs in school a Dr would know this stuff. So if they're uninformed in this area, you have to wonder what other areas they're uninformed in.
Anyway, I say leave your ego at home as far as weights go and continue the cycle. Train around the injury-only doing weights/exercises that don't irritate it. Now is the perfect time to work extra on detail muscle groups like forearms and calves. They're the only 2 muscle groups you can show off without long like you're "showing off" Or do extra cardio if you're a porky.
And FYI-I tore a pec a month ago. It was only a partial tear, but still pretty bad. I've been training around it and can barely notice a difference in my upper body thickness. I'm not concerned with my weights that I'm pushing at all. As long as I train intensely and keep my protien intake high I seem to make progress no matter what.
