if you're turning 18 in a few months, get something small and with less power. the insurance rates are going to kill your wallet. this even holds true on trucks, as they are bigger and can do more damage in the event of an accident, so liability on them is higher.
of course, considering you're turning 18 in a few months and all you're looking at are $25K + cars/trucks, i'm figuring you're either getting a trust fund or mommy and daddy are going to make your payments and pay your insurance too.

y cant a 18 year old by a car w/o people thinkin their rents are paying for it?? i mean i wrk alot and i have wrkd for many years and i am putting a down payment on it of about 12,000 and then im going to pay payments

well, if you are the bank, are you gonna give an 18 year old $25K for a first loan even though he's putting $12K down? you might, but you're going to want the highest interest rate possible.
parents step in as co-buyer and provided they have good credit, the interest rate will plummet, making the car affordable because the bank doesn't give a shit if the 18 yr old defaults. they'll just go after the parents on that one and fuck up their credit if they don't pay.
or you can go to a buy here/pay here place where they will jack the credit up through the roof but they'll pretty much sell anyone a car and i guess somehow it gets on your credit report.
i started small, a few small loans here and there, paid on time, but my credit is back to no/slow because i havn't needed a loan in a few years. that actually hurt me when we went car shopping, as it had been over 3 years since i paid off my last loan, which i paid on time every time for almost 3 years.

If you want a fast cheap car that looks good and is new, go for a Mitsubishi Eclipse or a Volkswagen GTI 1.8T... if you want a sweet used car, go for a 92 Supra Turbo (My car of choice) and modify then engine, and rims. It's a solid car, but the only tough thing is that parts are a bitch to find.

Nevermind, if you want over 300 stock, go for a STI, they are fucking sick. and you can up the boost and change the intercooler to gain an extra 100hp easily. If you put some JP pistons on you can also gain lots of HP. remember to only use synthetic oils on her tho. (Mobil 1 is best)
