What are Your Training Principles??/

louden_swain said:
Simple:

1. heavy weights
2. low volume
3. intensity
4. short workouts
5. lots of food/water
6. plenty of rest

Agreed on #'s 2-6. However, I'd say #1 for me is a combination of light, moderate, and heavy weights. That's working for me this training cycle.

thanx for the replies guys. i was just wondering how different successful trainee's principles differed. i know most on here have had good success with their training and find it interesting how different things work well for differing people.

my training is a mix of:

Olympic lifting
WSB style powerlifting
Dinasour Lifts
Kettlebell Work and Club Bell work
Strongman Events
grip training
sprint work
plyometrics

In my humblest opinion, I would have to say Swain hit the nail right on the head.
Karma to the Swainster :)

1. Load, not fatigue
2. Frequency
3. Progressive load
4. Strategic Deconditioning to prevent plateaus
5. 500-1000 calorie surplus

When training for mass, I steal the HST principles:

1) Mechanical Load
2) Chronic Stimuli
3) Progressive Load
4) Strategic Deconditioning
