What are we gaining ? H2O?

I have noticed that when on cycle you look & feel great. Muscles bulge and veins protrude but whether you do standard PCT or just cruise there is noticeable loss after a week or two.

I know that AAS direct more water into muscle fibers & cells hypertrophy and therefor the ripped look, but we all loose a good 10 Lbs. in a week or two & I am 99% sure this is mostly water, hell our bodies are 62% WATER.

I am wondering when on cycle are we just playing with water, in a sense, by just causing our bodies to change how & where our water is. I am not saying that this water manuipulation might not add strength, perhaps muscles that are targeted with extra water may be more efficient and therefore able to do more work.

I am pretty sure we are born with the quanity of muscle cells and it is fixed. I think HGH may actually grow some additional cells, but I am sure we have some experts on here wo can elaborate on all this.

Am I completely off in left field on this or is this right on target?

Thanks & let's share the research

The main reason we lose it, is because our diets were not the best when on, and then when off the diet usually gets worse. You also tend to hold on to water more easily when off which will smooth you out. Another factor to consider is the mental one. When on we feel better, are stronger and function more efficiently. When off, that sensation of well being dissipates leaving us feeling less euphoric until are body chemistry returns to its natural balanced state. So we also tend to magnify the loss to some extent.

Muscles lose their pump because there is not enough blood volume that the steroids provided either (different than holding water under the skin)

Keep diet clean (not strict) and keep the workouts going strong (don't slack off) There will be some loss, but it can be minimized

Actually I am very pedantic about my diet & workout routine.

It is the same whether I am on or off cycle.

My theory is that we just are adding water to our muscles when on and loosing the water when off.

I am not saying we don't get some benefits because we do.

When on, our metabolism is more efficient shutteling nutrients, we recover faster but
at the end of the day I really think it is all about the water H2O retention

^^^ depends if you run dbol/deca/test with no AI and gain 30 pounds then yeah a lot of that is gonna be water. anyone can do that but the bloated fish look isn't gonna attract much positive attention from people.

secondly while on your body is in an anabolic and androgenic state all the time. so you are gonna benefit from that. when you come off you lose that, and then have to depend on food and workouts for that anabolism.. since a lot of guys can't gain off steroids cause of poor diet, poor workouts or even poor genetics.. that difference gets maximized. usually newbs will experience that but experienced lifters won't as much.

no matter what you will lose some 'weight' when you come off.. water as is being discussed here but also all the added nutrients that are stored in the muscles while on. this is why even w/ dry compounds you will gain more weight early in the cycle.. nutrient loading or whatever you wanna call it.. this is assuming you are eating to gain muscle not cutting..

but 100% if you are eating and training are growing your muscles.. its not just water and sugar contributing to the weight

No other perfect words for this. Dead on!

Personal opinion but if your loosing 10lbs your doing something wrong ( not u as in u in gereral ) I would think. 10lbs water is this even possible with Deca and Dbol stack?

If your loosing weight you would need to up your calorie intake imo. The most I have ever lost from a cycle is 6lbs. They say every 10lbs 3 is fat. I know you do loose water wgt but ten pounds sounds like too much.

I fluctuate 10 lbs of water in a few days while natural sometimes man, it's easily possible haha. I'm doubting I gain and lose 10 lbs of fat or muscle within the space of 4 days sometimes lol

Wow... Everyones different. You should run arimadex to help with bloat while on cyc.

doesn't matter gaining or losing 10 pounds.. its what the mirror says. sometimes losing 10 pounds make you look more hard and vascular and less bloaty so its a good thing. granted your strength will take a hit. I'm actually down about 7 pounds and 2% body fat in the past 3 weeks, but I look much better in the mirror.. my bench press is down about 25-30 pounds though, but that is fine, i wanted my abs back.

Note the key word of natural in there :) haha.
Has happened for years, used to be like Friday I'm 200, Monday 210, Thursday 202, etc
It's not visible "wtf" bloat, im not small and changes in level of hydration distributes pretty well usually :)
Obviously on a 120 lb person it'll look insane haha.
Can simply be food and water difference bro :) not always bloat lol

a clean and consistent diet that is balanced and well planned out will definitely help minimize weight fluctuations. This will also make it easier to see gains and how you are progressing.

Just one day of cheating w/ a high carb / high sodium meal can really make the scale go crazy for a while.. and it is much harder to judge what is really going on then.

Exactly... The mirror tells all!
