not that this is a movie, or even about the Italian mafia that you all are reffering to, but I just started watching Kingpin on DVD, a series that I think was on NBC or something like that. The DVD is unedited and the show is really really good. Its not quite the Sopranos, but it is a different setting, mostly bout cocaine druglords on the Mexican border. check it out if u get a chance.

Miller's Crossing with Gabriel Byrne..quite cerebral and you really have to pay attention to follow all the machinations going on..kinda like "The Usual Suspects" set in 20s-30s mafia
