what are some good, solid lap tops out there?

Yep We are awaiting for our DELL.

Also Sony, and toshiba are very good. But as a former computer builder, they are all pretty much the same on the inside. There is a specific industry standard that all companies must conform to when running the say, intell processors.

Then only difference between brands would be the options on screen size, memory capacity, and other features, and ofcourse price.

I like my Pro-star. So far it's held up better than I expected. A friend recommended it to me, and he was right. They will be cheaper than Dell and work just as well.
