What album is constantly in your CD player?

I have 3-disc JVC and Boz Scaggs' "Silk Degrees" has been in my player about 1½ years now. I've listen that CD about 800-900 times already.

I have every slayer album made in one cd tower-pack in my car. I have had the same collection in tape, on cd for the last 15 years since reign in blood. If every they get scratched or some other audio format becomes popular (like when cds came) I buy them all over again. Since I add to it with every new album, I would have to say haunting the chapel, and show no mercy have been in every stereo I've owned since the early 80's. So those two albums have been in my collection over 20 years. :) I would say that qualifies as constantly. :)

At this time, I've been listening to opeth "deliverance" and anthrax "we've come for you all" a lot this week in particular though, if you want to know what in the "new-CD tower" :)

In the car I have Aborted - Goremageddon and Suffocation - Souls to Deny. At home I have CafFiends - Fission, Fusion, and Things Made of Concrete. All three will stay around until I review them.

Buckethead~Electric Tears

Bob Marley~Exodus

Evergrey~Entire catalogue ('cept the 1st cd, 'cause I don't got it yet)

Good call on Demon Hunter FZ. They play that shit on the local christian/alternative radio station all evening while I'm working. Good stuff.

It's usually what I have recently bought. So this week it has been Byzantine, Kreator, Evergrey, Arch Enemy, Death Angel.

Kreator is awesome powerslave, I've been impressed by the kreator, past life trauma disc. Great stuff!

These days I'm switching things out a lot, but for about six months the only think I worked out to was Sting's Sacred Love album. I'd try to time it so that the title song would play while I did squats...it's about a husband and wife gettin' it on, and it's got this great bit that makes me feel like a goddess:

The spirit moves on the water
She takes the shape of this heavenly daughter
She's rising up like a river in flood
The word got made into flesh and blood
The sky grew dark, and the earth she shook
Just like a prophecy in the Holy Book...

You get the picture.

:bigkiss: (Hi, Maj!)

yeah I'm really digging that Kreator double live cd I got last week. I have Extreme Aggression. I need to get it out and listen to it. I also need to go pick up the rest of their back catalog. Don't you hate when you hear a band that has been around for years and you have know about them but never really gave a good listen. Then you do and you're like where the fuck have I been all these years!!!

same with me bro -- kreator is awesome. But, you know, they are a german thrash band 20 years old, so I don't feel my usual shame in missing a good band. They're pretty obscure. I really bought past life trauma as a joke because of the title and ridiculously campy satanic iconography on the cover, and I was like, "Holy shit! This is awesome." I love little musical discoveries like that. It definitely has me interested in checking out other coutries' metal besides USA and sweden. There's probably a lot of beautiful sound hiding out there

In my car the past week or two it's been an mp3 CD with the following albums on it:

Arch Enemy - Black Earth
Damageplan - New Found Power
Demon Hunter - Summer of Darkness
Dimmu Borgir - Death Cult Armageddon
Flaw - Endangered Species
Ill Nino - Confession
Killswitch Engage - The End of Heartache
Motograter - S/T
Nevermore - The Politics of Ecstasy
Opeth - Damnation
Raunchy - Confusion Bay
Sevendust - Southside Double Wide

I've heard a song or two from Orphaned Land. I think I liked them. I forget. I was a while ago. lol

I'll check the other ones out later.

This week the empty tower is filled with Sin after Sin and Stained class of judas priest. Opeth, the new Anthrax and iced earth are out. Revisting old testament and the new album too. The slayer tower is still there but mostly filled with reign in blood, show no mercy, haunting the chapel and some early live discs, all before lombardo left.

whoa, I was burning shit for my mp3 player and was like damn I need some Testament on there. Burned their "First Strike Still Deadly" disc. This is the one where the boys re-did some tracks of the frist two albums. I'll slap some more on there this evening.

I was reading the Encyclopedia of Heavy Metal (which is hilarious btw!) and read the newest one features a great ringer drummer and billy is recovered from cancer and full of fire! They say it's heaviest testament ever, after they ditched the jazzy guitar guy (forget his name, joey or jimmy). I'm looking forward to hearing it . . .

I edited this to reflect the discovery that the drummer is ----- dave lombardo of reign in blood !!!! No wonder it added some shit. He actually drummed on the gathering album before. I think they're going on to greatness!
