What about size? ALA dosage eh?

I see a lot of dosages given out on this board, not so much with AAS, but with substances such as ALA in particular where people are like.. you need 3 grams a day! What no one ever seems to recommend is to take it according to your weight. I am 5'9 170 and it's clear to me that I need a MUCH smaller dose to give me full effect than a 6'0 260lb guy. So especially in regards to the ALA debate... does anyone know the most effective dose/lb of body weight? I'm currently taking 600mg about 3 times a day... is this enough for 170 lbs? About 10%bf.... I am currently on a clean diet but am not cutting carbs, just trying to increase the size without eating myself broke. Any info appreciated

That is definetly a good starting point. I can't encourage enough to experiment with it and see what works. There is a point where it doesn't matter how much you take because it won't be anymore effective... I assume you could slowly rise upward and see how you feel..... You could jump into a larger dose too, but if you go up slower you will know how you feel at each stage, or for instance you may feel the same at 2100 mgs as you do at 3 grams. That is why I encourage finding a staring point and then raising slowly. So you are not wasting ALA!

First of all, always take ALA with a meal right before or during or hreartburn will occur. It is an acid, so you will feel it.

In regards to feeling.... I feel pumped all day long. I eat large carb meal, 150 carbs, and I feel pretty pumped all the time. Guys have reported that they feel like they are on. This is because the excess glucose that is shuttled into your muscles.
 
I think the amount of carbs you eat is more important for dosing concerns than your weight. There is no reason to take 3g of ALA if you are only eating 75g of carbs per day. The more carbs you eat the more ALA you will take on a daily basis. Now if you do eat a lot of carbs then you may want to take more ALA per gram of carbs than a smaller person, but again carb intake is the major dosage gauge.

That's of course assuming you are using it for that purpose which most of us are. If you are using it more for liver detoxification because of an oral 17aa cycle then you might consider taking more even if your carb intake is low. Personally I take 300mg per 50g of carbs or so. I intake about 180g of carbs per day while dieting so I never even go over 1.5g. On free days however when I load up on carbs I take as much as 600mg per meal.
