Wendy's Chili

How bad is this for your really? whenever i go with my friends to eat at wendy's i normally get the bake potatoe and the chili w/ out cheese. what im really asking is, is there chili good or bad for you?

If it was just beef and beans, it wouldn't be too bad for you. But there are other things you need to look out for such as sugar & fat content.

nope wendy's chili supposedly has 5g of fat or less

I posted about this a few months ago

IMO one of the best fast food choices we have

I love it. I always get their grilled chicken combo sub out the fries for a baked plain potatoe and an unsweatened tea...
Oh or the chili which is yuummmeey

Looks pretty decent. Sodium content is way high though, but as long as you aren't a salt fiend the rest of the day you should be fine.

I regularly eat their baked potato and 2 chilli's for lunch. you get lots of complex carbs, pretty good amount of protein, lots of fiber. the fiber and the protein slow down the g.i. hit from the potato. i love it for the meal i eat on a workut day about an hr. after my pw shake. for 3 bucks, u can't beat it.

I'll bet you $100 that if you new the true ingredients, you wouldn't touch that shit......

I have to agree with JKurz on this one

I was only endorsing this in a pinch, as the lesser of all evils in the fast food world. I wouldn't make it a staple of your diet

i used to work at wendy's...it's decent stuff. basically just beans, chopped onions, etc. and bits of burger patties that fell apart during cooking.

nope, if ur grilling ans screw up a burger by breaking it up, they have u dump it in a little bin off the side of the grill. i doubt they'd lie about the ingredients on their website, unless they want the health dept or fda on their ass. it's a fast food place...not like they have a rep. to protect of being a haven of low fat haven.

Very right, I once worked at that sweatshop called Wendys and the chili is pre-made as a dry mix and hot water is added and it turns into what you all perceive as chili.

I have something so so so much worse than this. I'll pm it because I don't want others to stop eating it all together.

Nah, he thought I'd be grossed out by eggs, thinking of them as chicken menstration.....not a chance..........I told him I've been to a chicken coupe and seen the filthy animals eating their own feces and butchered by the hundreds, in a extremely unsanitary way..........effected me for a day, if that...........chicken is still a staple, as this is a way of life...........

chicken menstruation is the funniest fucking thing ive heard all week since the last time I caught SOuth park on comedy central

LOL!

Well I didn't say it to the public. Told my brother that and it took him 2 weeks to even touch an egg again.

I can't claim credit for making that up. Took it from a webcomic called something positive.

Don't know if I've referred to them as Breafastchicken here or if that was another forum. That's my uncles name invention at work. :p

(PS. Brunette pretty avatar picture)

Finally broke down and searched for a translator online. Tell me if this is close

Makes about 12 servings.

Tidbits

For spicier chili, add 1/2 teaspoon more black pepper.
For much spicier chili, add 1 teaspoon black pepper and a tablespoon cayenne pepper.
And for a real stomach stinger, add 5 or 6 sliced jalapeno peppers to the pot.
Leftovers can be frozen for several months.

I don't know how it has less than 5g fat then, guess they are lying.

btw god this thread is old.

I'm still itching to try it. Maybe on my next cheat day. Strangely enough my cheat days are more like cheat meals, only let myself have one thing.

So fast food chili or stromboli......

Oh and for the Frosty fans (LOL,,, (sorry..) lololol), my manager taught me never to have any more frosty. We opened up the machine and it accumulates water and humidity inside and tons of bugs kick it inside.
