Well there went another 37 troops today.......

God I get so fucking depressed reading about this shit everyday. My marine buddy thinks he might be going, 4 kids and 3 years to retirement. Somedays I just skip the headlines, not that I don't care, I just can't deal with it.

I may enlist. I really don't believe in it, but I just got fucked at work, recently divorced, screwed out of my life's savings. Might help clear my mind out and put some different shit in there.

lol.

i really belive that all congressman/pres/vicepres.........must have a child sent to war age 16-20. it would never happen though.

Basic would help get in better shape, blow shit up, etc. Good times. The car bombs don't thrill me though.

You'd be a good front line candidate--be mowing mofos over 1000 per hour....

sorry about ur misfortune. Yeah, that kinda shit just really makes u want to get out and do something. It will either work one of 2 ways 4 you, hopefully the better. Keep in mind the military is already a mindfuck, starting in basic.

Yeah. I went to military school. Got kicked out. I'd probably shoot for anger school. My dad was a Ranger in Vietnam.

Nice, looking to go to war to clean you head up? Not exactly the best plan, you might want to look toward a different route if that's your objective. As far as the #'s go, if you don't agree with it do something about it I think. It's kinda hard to understand someones point when they haven't taken a firm side by actions.

True story. I'd just love to take some of this out on someone I don't give a shit about w/o having to give a shit about the consequenses.

Sucks that troops die, but it is always a possibility. Sucks that we are able to kill our own troops better than the enemy can.
I don't think that it is worthwhile to argue how or why we are there anymore, or at this point even relevent.
We are there, let's take care of eliminating the enemy as quickly as possible and bring te troops home.
I'll have lots of cold beers for them when they get back, and won't have the means to show my appreciation but I will try.

Actually it would provide you with all the time you need to think, sometimes to much. Lots of down time over there at points.

I'm ex-military... Join becuase you want to do something for your country and yourself. Keep in mind that you are about 90% likely to go to war, and that means seeing a lot of SHIT that t.v. doesn't even show, and having to have those pictures in the back of your mind for the rest of your life. Every time I look at the news and see a soldier wounded I wonder if it was a friend of mine. It gives a whole new perspective on life. Yes it is their job, but also they gave their life for you to make the most out of yours!

But hey, 51% of the US voters think these deaths are acceptable. Afterall, they voted for Bush.

How were you screwed out of your life's savings? There are ways to ensure that doesn't happen you know. It's called intimidation. If someone doesn't play fair, neither will I.

Not exactly. That's an oversimplification. BUt some people never question authority.

It is just one of the many bush blunders. It just happens to be the biggest one.

I think it will take many years for us to know if what we are doing is right or not. I would rather take the fight to them instead of doing nothing and seeing another American city in flames. Afghanistan was a must, Iraq is questionable. Anyone can be a Monday morning quarterback, I think Bush has made some hard choices where his predecessor kept sweeping the terrorist threat under the rug. If we had not gone to Iraq and Saddam had done something to us then the same people who are criticizing Bush would be saying he should have done something about Saddam. People who dislike Bush will dislike him regardless what he does, just like those who disliked Clinton. It's a big mess, no doubt, and there are no easy answers.

Were You?
i shoulda asked it a different way..............what do we have left and how little do we have to have before a draft?

don't think draft, think taxes. These days there will be someone to fill the shoes as long as it is hard to land a good job and the military pay goes up. As for ending this thing soon, maybe you should like more about what else will need to be done to finish it.

I Agree.

Until EVERYTHING Goes Public ,That Is.

Isnt This Bushs Job ?.

Along With a Exit Strategy?

funny thing, today is the first time there has been a headline that locally based aussie soldiers ahve been hurt. id hate to see what would happen if they started dying. apparently some iraqi suicide bombed them in their armored vehicle, injuring a few of them. 6 are still on active duty (which is good, means theyre ok) one lost part of a finger (also good, not too bad) but the other has unspecified injuries, and is being treated in germany. which generally means amputation or something like that.

very sad. i know a lot of army dudes, theyll tell me tonight no doubt

Not sure...

But I saw On the News the Pentagon(?) trying to contract a Leagal Company out Of Cali.To Try to Figure Out How to Get More Troops with out a Draft.

The Company Turned them Down.

I also know The Army has Just "Hired" 200+ New Recruiters to Go to High Schools .

Mostly In poor Areas.
