I'm not supporting any of those guys unless they can guarantee us at least $1T/year deficits.

Can any of them guarantee that they won't?

In the wake of Barry's handiwork, no. No one of either party would be able to guarantee we don't have $1T deficits.

Whoever the next president is may very well be screwed. A huge number of jobs are gone for good. ~9% unemployment may be the new norm.

Shit, I forgot...those numbers are from the CBO.

Garbage in, garbage out ammiright?

Odd... since I distinctly remember Barry signing his own tax cut bill on December 17, 2010 for $858B. I appears to be missing from your chart. Perhaps it occurred on one of those days you were parked outside my office.

And LOL @ barrycare costing $152B. Reports are already flooding in on how costs were underestimated for that mess. Or do we only count analysis that was done the day the bill was passed?

You mean primarily the extension of the Bush tax cuts, which is represented on the chart?

But ok, lets add $858 billion under Obama's name (and rightfully so).* That equals, what, $2.2 trillion give or take?

Ive been spending a lot of time eating your lobby candy so I havent been brushing up on my math skills so help me out here...

Is $5.07 trillion greater than, less than, or equal to $2.2 trillion?

*FYI glad to see you alluding to the notion that extending them was a bad idea.

You probably didnt notice that if the Bush tax cuts expired as intended, that would have cut the deficit by close to 50% either, right?

The why in the world would Barry ever sign a bill to extend them???

And LOL @ comparing eight years of actuals to around two years of actuals and six years of projections.

I started to type: " -- you're smarter than that"

But I don't really believe that.

It makes me feel kinda weird defending Obama. Apparently only someone as dim as plunk can actually get me to argue in favor of our generation's Jimmy Carter.

But hey, facts are facts.

What's with all this economics crap? Can't people stick to the subject for even one page? We've got an entire party, minus the one Libertarian who only runs as GOP because he knows a Libertarian Party candidate stands no chance, who want to legislate from The Bible.

The bigger question is this? Why do we interject government into areas where it shouldn't be, which gives Bible-thumpers a leg to stand on?

How much argument is there over creationism versus evolution in private schools? I'm sure there is vigorous debate -- but at the school level (which is exactly where it should be). As a dyed-in-the-wool atheist, I don't think our public failure factories (a.k.a. public schools) aren't any worse or better off by even having the debate. They can teach about the flying spaghetti moster for all I care -- they'll still produce graduates who can't read their own diplomas.

And I feel the same way about abortion. If someone wants to have one, go for it. But then these libtards funnel public money into the issue, which gives any and all Bible-thumpers a ticket to vote on the issue. I don't blame someone for trying to express their theology through politics. It's the duty of government to stay out of either side of these issues.

As much as I don't like evangelical dogma, I'd still rather deal with a politician who is fully subscribed to Jebus than one subscribed to some whacky environmental movement (which is just as much a religion as Christianity ever was).

Now I like you, but could you explain to me why you keep saying schools are complete failures? You made an erroneous-comprehensive statement regarding teachers.I taught high school social studies for 10 yrs. Teachers are 10 times better now than they were when I was a kid and when you were a kid, and I'm 40, I'll venture to say you are a little older.

The real failures are the parents these days. I taught in lower income schools where the kids came to school dirty and didn't show up half the time. When you attempted to contact the parents half the time you could not reach them and when you did they were disinterested in their child's education. Then when they came to school they were nothing but unruly rogues and the administration did nothing with them. Very frustrating...

Then I was hired into a wealthy school district, the polar opposite occurred. The parents controlled the enviroment. They felt their kids were special and deserved straight A's irregardless if they earned the grade or not, so their little baby could get into a nice private college.. The administration kissed their ass because of economic interests. All these group kids did was text and listen to their ipods during class time, and the administration did nothing about it... so I got the fuck out!

For the record, teachers are 10 times better equipped, trained, and smarter these days than they ever been. The failures are the parents, school administration, and that joke of a teachers union that is robbing hard working teachers from their real pensions. Bunch of fucking parasites... Too much stress, not enough pay, so teachers throw in the towel, that's the problem.

1) I agree that parents are a huge part of the solution. Children imitate their parents. So if dad is on week 90 of unemployment benefits and spends the day fogging-out on the couch, the kid is going to imitate that.

2) I like teachers -- the top 20%, 40% or even 60% of them. The problem is, they don't allow themselves to be policed. If they would clean themselves up (which includes ending all this union garbage), our schools might have a chance.

3) Central planning of education has been a huge failure. The government taxes people, sends the money all the way to the federal government then dispenses the money back out to the states with huge strings attached. The Department of Education needs to be recognized as the failure it is and dissolved.

You nailed it about the central planning being a huge failure. There is no actual planning, everything is done in a haphazard manner. You are right about the DOE too, it's nothing but a racket especially at the college level.

I figured we mean-spirited conservatives would wind-up on the same page.
