Welcome All Summer Lifters.....

Seeing as there have been a lot of posts lately about:

"critique my routine"
"whats the best way for such-and-such body"
"tone me up bro's"

Thought I would make a simple suggestion. Please read the training stickeys at the top. They are there for a reason, they really do help.

If you want opinions on your routine, don't get upset if it gets made fun of. Also, a routine involves more than posting :
M; back/bi's
t: chest/tris
etc...

If you don't want to gain weight, eat less. If you are trying to add muscle/bulk up, eat more. If you weigh less than 150lbs...eat everything in sight, then eat some more. Most people here honestly don't care what your food macro's are...thats what the diet board is for. Don't complain a routine isn't working if you aren't eating enough to gain weight.

If they were the type of person who was going to read your commendable post containing links to the valuable post containing valuable links they probably would have read the valuable post containing valuable links first already, considering it says, in caps: START HERE.

But a valiant attempt at logic and reason and hoping against hope nonetheless, my friend. :p

Seriously folks, all the info you need is right there.

Excellent post, and hilarious thread title. I should save this somewhere so that I can just cut and paste it as a generic response to about 80% of the threads that are started by clueless people.

If you weigh 150lbs, you need to get a few spears, and a nice big fire set up near a cattle ranch. Slay a cow everyday and eat it! Screw the farmer, he'll understand.

Well unfortunately school is out for the summer, at least in my area, so its only going to get worse from here. Worth a shot I guess....can I drink winny???

Why would you make fun of someone's routine? There shouldn't be any of that going on at all.

And what is wrong with someone posting up a routine and asking for clarification? I agree that some of the time people need to do more reasearch but if they are even TRYING to put up a routine then obviously they have done some reading and looking into things. If you know training, then you should be able to tell if somebody has done enough research on their own by giving the routine a cursory glance.

What exactly is it you envision for this board? If people aren't discussing lifting routines then what are they discussing?

I envision a board where people actually read some of the recommended reading. Certain times during the year, we get an influx of people, much the same as the gym around new years. IMHO a routine has to involve more than tricep pressdowns, lat pulldowns, curls, and smith squats. TO ME that shows that they haven't really figured much out on their own and just want someone to spoonfeed em all the info.

There is absolutely nothing wrong debating between HIT, splits, 5x5, DoggCrap, oly lifting, powerlifting, etc. When people get critized for their routine not making any progress, they are quick to defend that 'such and such lifter uses it' or 'I like it I'm going to use it anyways'. Some people just post it to brag and really don't care that people here spend time trying to help them and get frustrated when their advice is ignored.

I was trying to be funny, obviously some people missed it. It was merely an observation that people will post up lists of bodyparts then ask about their 'routine', I find it amusing/annoying.

EDIT: I understand you are the new mod in these parts. Not trying to be offensive here, I had no clue who you were when they made you mod, and that has not changed much. I do see that threads get cleaned up/locked when appropriate and I appreciate all the work you do. That being said, when the board members here asked for a mod, we posted a list of what WE thought would be good mods (around 10 people IIRC). It was completely ignored.

I hear you dude and I don't think I was the mod chosen in response to your thread - I just try to contribute on this board.

You are right - there will always be people with seemingly silly questions who don't "get it", and I think the thing to do is to keep posting up quality threads/sharing information to try to minimize those and to keep the board on the right track. Help the ones you feel are worth it/putting effort in, etc., and let the other ones fall to the bottom of the page. Or hell, post a link to the relevant sticky if you are seriously irked - it speaks the loudest I think. At least, I always feel the dumbest when I don't even get acknowledged with words. And if they don't learn after that, then they're retarded.

I will say though that admin takes the mod-decision process seriously and because of that, they never rush into anything. I think that is why you are feeling like this is taking so long. I will bring this up on the mod board though.

I think Nathan stays out of the politics and really just means well and is nice guy. He's been good to have around. I think the weight training board would like a mod who is focused on either oly lifting or powerlifting, since that is what the board regulars are into... but you seem very dedicated to BBing, are open to ideas, and you're not an ass.... so thanks for being a decent dude.

And I fixed yours.

Where has he been, anyways?

he's really, really, really serious this time.

Nathan seems like a decent chap and this forum really isn't plauged with the problems of the AAS one.. no-one has to tip toe around sponsers and there's no resident gurus or internet tough guys giving 'red' here.

aside from 'read the stickies' there's not much else you can tell ppl who post a M&F routine and want to look like arnie by July

Man that is some depressing ass ish. That post is literally a roundabout version of the same post that's posted every three months. That is some serious ish right there.

No, I am familiar with jkurz's posts, I just didn't know anything about him personally - that was way too much info for me.
