weirdness with platinum chat

I find that even though I have closed down the chat window, and am not browsing the elite site any more, I'm still appearing in the chat window to others as being logged in and getting private talk windows from folks - who I guess are then pissed off coz I don't reply, usually because I've left the monitor off and am asleep/at work/whatever. Anyone else find this?

Takes about 5 minutes or so for the system to reset itself once you exit.
