weird reaction to shaving?!

recently when I shave and after I shave, I get red blotches on my face where I shave the most (i.e. right down my sideburn and on one cheek). They look like zits but I don't think they are. That area gets real dry too. I have been using the same shaving cream (Edge gel). What the hell? any ideas? :worried:

I guess. I have never had razor burn in my, maybe 9 years of shaving, so I have no idea if this is it. Any suggestions on getting rid of it and avoiding it in the future? I wanna bang a chick at my new job and this isn't helping.

I get this one my neck,my solution lately has been use alcohol pads right after shaving to clean the pores while they are open

that must feel great! lol. thanks for the tip, bro.

OW- alcohol pads right after shaving? dayum.

exfoliate your face before you shave....that will help......also use some kind of lotion like cetaphil after you shave.

I used to get razor burn pretty damn bad on my neck area but since starting this I haven't had it at all.

Try some tea tree essential oil on the area...it's easier on your skin than alcohol...and it won't burn as much. It may sting a little as it is an astringent and has anti-bacterial properties. It could be irritated hair follicles....do you shave in the same direction?

hurts like fuck Ill say that much, but much less pain and hassle then if I let it goto the razor burn stage, once its there my shirt collar rubs and drives me nuts

when I wake up immediately following my shower. and it doesn't burn or anything nor does it hurt. it's very dry and looks even feels like acne, but I doubt that's what it is.

i shave in the shower... but make sure you shave either during or after. also use a brush to apply your shave cream. I'd get some sensitive skin stuff maybe spend a few more bux on some higher qual products. Your face is worth it.

Try shaving at night and putting a moisturizer on before you go to bed. That should help with redness.

That brown colored cream is good for blotches, just dont put to much on tho.
