a few times in the past week Ive had beat red blood in my stool, its kinda worrying my,Im thinking maybe a internal hemmeroid as I sometimes get irritation of the ass(for lack of better words) and I think it could be from lifting.

but I may be wrong, anyone got any ideas?

it dont happen all the time, this week it started and has happened every three days this week

thanks

fuck I hope not, what are other symptoms of ulcers? and wouldnt that blood be darker since it comes from deeper inside?

btw my diet macros are roughly
50% pro
30% carb 20% fat

I usually get about 15-20g fiber a day

stomac ulcers usually result in a malena (black dark blood) due to the site of the bleed being in the upper GI tract and being absorbed partially

beet? red blood is bright red blood? Anyhow this is suggestive of bleeding anywhere in the from anus to caecum (basically the column, or somewherein the lower GI tract).

While it is probably something managable I would still go and see what the underlying cause is, so you should see a doc. Just a few questions though

: do you ever suffer from constipation or having to strain? or diarrhoea?

do you ever feel likeyou havent completely passed any stool when in fact you probably have (i.e. youare empty but you still feel some stool there?)

Is the blood fresh red, or darker?

Is it mixed in with the stool itself or is it separate to it?

Have you noticed any change in bowel habit recently?

Have you had any abdominal pain?

Have you had any weight loss recently/?

Is the blood only present on wiping/?

What is the irritation of the 'ass'? is it pain on defaecation? or simply itching?

Do you ever have any pain on defaecation or relieving of symptoms?

Has this ever happened before? and do you have any other medical conditions that could have caused it?

Have you noticed any change in bowel habit recently? ya going much less frequently

Have you had any abdominal pain?nothing more than muscle pain from lifting

Have you had any weight loss recently/? yes Im cutting

Is the blood only present on wiping/? yes

What is the irritation of the 'ass'? is it pain on defaecation? or simply itching? itching to a mild burning almost caused from defaecation

Do you ever have any pain on defaecation or relieving of symptoms? yes this kinda burning

Has this ever happened before? and do you have any other medical conditions that could have caused it? no
.

from that it sounds like a fissure, but given its persistance/re-occurance and the fact its worrying you why not go see a doc for him to confirm it....

I would agree with what danielson has said and based on what you are reporting it does sound like a fissure. It is just a small tear in the skin lining the anus. It usually occurs when you change your bowel habits. The best way to treat it is to increase the fibre in your diet. Make sure you drink plenty of water when increasing your fibre intake. Your stools should be soft but well formed. You can also take a few hot baths throughout the day to help relax the anal muscles. If it fails to heal or if it re-occurs frequently then you will have to consult with a physician.

I'm willing to beat money this is an internal hemmorhoid. Red blood almost always points to that. Not to be too graphic, but have you noticed if the blood is mixed IN the stool, on it, or on the toilet paper? If its on the stool or on the toilet paper you're pretty well in the clear. Actually seeing it mixed in would indicate its higher up, but thats usually a darker red or purple. To make you feel better you can ask your doc.. but many people undergo a colonoscopy for internal hemmorhoids, and its a nasty prep.

P.S. I forgot to mention heavy lifting can definately cause hemmorhoids due to the pressure.... so if u've been doing any of that lately... :worried:

haemmoroids can become symptomatic as well but are much less likely, usually if they prolapse past the dentate line (a point in the rectum-anus) so I do think its perhaps wise to go see a doc on the off chance it isnt a fissure, though from what you;ve said and the fact you are cutting it does sound like one

your doc will probably be able to see a fissure just by looking, if he does need to take an look inside the worst it will get for someone your age etc will be a anoscopy or sigmoidoscopy, as from what i can remember current guidelines (in my neck of the woods at least) state for someone your age a full blown colonoscopy isnt needed provided an overt cause of bleeding can be found on ano-or sigmoidoscopy (which can be done in a GP clinic during the consult)

this is exactly whats happening,it hasnt happened since fri so it seems its fine at the moment but it does this.

Im gonna try that stool softener see if that helps

p.s if this is a internal hemmoroid what do I do to fix it?

There's not a whole lot you can do for internal hemmorrhoids unfortunately. If it becomes prolaspsed (comes out and you can see it) your doctor can tie an elastic band around it and it will fall off. I'm not kidding. If its causing you extreme discomfort there's also a laser type light they can use to coagulate the hemmorrhoid. Your doctor can perscribe a suppository with a steroid in it which may solve the problem or may not. I would opt for that if you're only having minimal discomfort. The best thing you can do is eat a diet high in fiber so when the stool passes over it, it won't irritate it as much, which is causing the bleeding. Also, avoid sitting on really cold surfaces. If its really irritated you can try having a hot Sitz bath, and for the love of God DO NOT strain when you're having a bowel movement.

I think the cause of this has been lifting and a lower in fiber diet than I should have been having,as on my higher fiber days I feel fine with no irritation

thanks for the help
