Weightlifter's headache ??

I was doing preacher curls the other day I and I got cocky and bit off more than I could chew. I did three reps and on the third rep knew I wasnt going to be able to get anymore so I started to do a negative. In the meantime, one of the trainers notices that I was struggling so he comes over to spot me in which I get cocky and decide to do another one. BIG mistake. I wasn't breathing properly, and it literally felt like something exploded in my head. I had an instant pounding headache that about drove me to my knees.

I still have a slight headache and did not work out yesterday because of it.. Well last night my girl comes over and I could barely have sex with her because the act of sex caused my headache to pound so bad that I felt sick to my stomach.

Has anyone ever had something like this and if so how long does it take to get rid of it? I know I'm and idiot for not breathing properly and for even trying the other rep. I'd would love any advice. I might schedule a dr. appointment today.

nothing will replace going to see a GOOD doc.. but at least give us some more detail

age
weight
bf%

supps
drugs
etc
etc

I have had the same exact thing happen to me before. I was on a cycle of deca, so I'm sure I had more blood volume adding an intense amount of hydrostatic pressure in my circulatory system. I was doing a heavy lift (dumbbell bench) and all of sudden, it felt like something popped in my head, because the pain was immediate. I ended up coming off the cycle, so my system would be under less blood pressure. The key to it, is exhaling when you exert the muscle. That happened years ago and It has only happened once since then. Now I just breath right and it doesn't seem to be an issue, ever.

it wont hurt to get checked up.. could be nothing.. could be your bp or something else.. just get it checked out and see whats up..

good luck

Where does it hurt in your head? Is it in the back of the neck? I've had something like that and I made a post on it. I just worked out with lighter weights, stopped if I felt it even SLIGHTLY coming on again... and it eventually (2 weeks to 3 weeks) went away 100% and now I just watch my breathing better. It happened to me a week into PCT both times. It's a horrible pain.

Look up about exertion headaches.

definately high bp IMO.

try some N2guard. even if you are in great shape a cycle where you run a harsh AAS, or an aromatizing AAS can spike bp. i went into a deca/dbol/test cycle one time at 7% body fat and i was running quite a bit so my heart health was as good as anyone's, and i still got high bp on it. its part of the game. and when you come off cycle it can take time for things to normalize.

all a doc will do is put you on bp meds when its just not necessary, go with the holistic approach. i would even try some meditation/yoga and work on your breathing. i've been doing 10 minutes of yoga after my workouts and i feel 100% better across the board.. i'm more flexibile, i have less muscle soreness/pain, and i sleep much better.

try this first. if it keeps happening THEN definately see a good doctor. also i would obviously montior your bp on your own several times a day.. when you go to a doc they take one reading and go by that which is a huge mistake, i know people on bp meds for life because the doc ran 1 bp test and it was high. 1 result from a test is foolish

but i assure you N2guard will help, look at the ingredients it contains.. that and hcgenerate are the 2 best supplements and I will never go without either especially on cycle

Thanks for all the help guys. I went to dr. today and my blood pressure was elevated 152/100. they said that pain can raise blood pressure. I didn't tell him I was on AAS. He told me that everything looks good after running a series of physical tests, but wanted me to go the ER for a cat scan. My copay is 150 so I think Im going to waait it out.

It hurst on the front left side.

SWOLNUTZ how long did it take before you could lift again? this is day 3 and there's no way I could lift. I tried having sex again last night and had to stop because my head hurt so flipping bad.

ive had this happen twice and my friend has also. never found alot of info out there about it but this is my oppinion and conclusion i came to: its an over-exersion head ache, it happens the same way you get hemmorroids from squatting or nose bleeds mid-set. it happens instantly and takes some time to go away. as an example, it happened to me while benching, putting absolutely everything into one last rep. i had to take a rest day the next day and then it felt like it went away but it would come back everytime i pushed real hard for the next couple weeks. the only thing that fixed it was taking a few days off then training light for a couple weeks. im pretty sure it comes from a blood vessel in your head popping, but not like an annurism, it can happen in your eye and i believe its how you get hemmorroids.

Similar to me bro was training fir Basketball, lol ease up guys, was doing. Plyo squat jumps fonething went bang and collapsed I literally couldn't lift my head for an hour felt like a needle in there!tried again after few days came back again, didn't see doc but it took 3 months to go.and it just disappeared real quick
Have a break brother it's your bodies way of saying

this is how bad this shit is. I have not lifeted since Monday. I havent seen my girl since Wednesday. Well today I was thinking of going to the gym, since my head has been feeling better. my before I go to the gym i decide I'mn going to knock one off.. Jesus I can't even do that becuase as soon as my blood pressure gets up little my head felles like someine is stabbing me with a knife.

At this rate I might lose everything I've gain ed on cycle. I can't do anything. This is not a pain that I can work through either. My head is still throbbing.

cmon man.. dont risk it.. just go to the doc and get everything tested.

the jeopardy answer to "weighlifter's headache" is "What is Customs?"--will also accept "what is the FDA?"

Like diefaster said, it seems to need a good 2-3 day break, and then just work out with lighter weights, and if you even FEEL like it is coming on again, you have to stop and just quit for that day. It definitely is a pain that you can not work through. But, for safety, I gotta go with everyone and say go get the CAT scan.

I went to my doc yesterday and she wants me to get an MRA? never heard of it before, but I guess it lets them see the blood vessels in my head. She also put me on an antiinflamatory. That's what I going to try and do is lift really light, but probably not until the doc gives the okay. She told me that she doesn't want me doing anything that exacerbates the condition. all good advice. Thansk all

always er on the side of caution and listen to the person with the big degree instead of a bunch of bros on the internets...sorry but thats always been my philosphy
