Weapons of Mass Destruction

ok, i saw it on snopes.com

http://www.snopes.com/rumors/atta.htm

and i do agree the focus of attention from extremists will eventually fall on the west.....but extremists are antagaonised by actions, and i don;t agree wth the broad-ask no questions support that Israel gets given its record of settlement building and blunt-force violence against the palestinians (i.e. when they shell a whole building or roll tanks in etc when only one person is a target)...or their witholding of land which is availible to the palestinians

i also would like to see a situation where a line was drawn between palestine and israel, and no-one is allowed across period....neither side seems willing to give up jerusalem, the palestinians want the west bank and gaza. the UN would need to help set up palestinin infrastructure as the muslim world wouldnt do jack to help israel. and most of these idiots dont even want a jewish state to exist....but a palestine where jews rghts are recognised (nvr gonna happen)

It's taken me longer than 13 days to find something in my house, let alone an entire nation. I would think that three months would be closer to an acceptable timeframe.

The ten years of looking was done by the UN, which is the very reason that the US thought that it had to take matters into their own hand. Blaming the US for ten years of UN incompetence doesn't make sense to me.

I'm not sure why you're trying to paint people who believe Iraq had WOMD as pro-government zealots who blindly accept everything that is fed to them, because that's not how I consider myself, and frankly I find it fairly insulting that because I disagree with you, that that makes me some sort of mindless cattle that is unable to rationalize and make my own conclusions. Sorry if I think that a 2 weeks is not enough time to scour an entire country in search of a couple of deliberately hidden weapons caches.

Questioning authority doesn't, in and of itself, make you a better or brighter person. All it does is make you a skeptic.

And why do you assume that the U.N. Inspectors are incompetant just off the cuff when they are considered EXPERTS in the field? And you just ASSUME that Bush's motives are altruistic when there is CONSIDERABLE evidence to the contrary? Did it ever occur to you that maybe the U.N. Inspectors did IN FACT accomplish their mission inspite of roadblocks put in their way by Sadaam Hussein's regime?

I also find that recent backpedaling by administration officials indicating doubts that WMD actually exist but probably did sometime in the past VERY curious. In other words, the LEGAL basis that the U.S. used to invade Iraq may not even have existed. So what does that make the Bush administration?

I just wanted to bump this thread -to show everyone just how BRAINWASHED everyone was back then!

I think WODIN was always a vocal critic of the war from the get-go. So for him - hats off, sir. Funny reading the replies. CNN sheep! lol.

I wonder if the Kurds in the 80's were brainwashed when Saddam used them wmds on them?

The Iraqi nuclear program was well documented.

Why is it you think you are in the know and everyone else is stupid? I didn't know playing guitar was that enlightening. Keep it up though, I have great laughs with all of your posts.

Also, why is it whenever I see Tenacious D,Pick of Destiny, I am reminded of you?

Uh....Anyone that believes that Iraq didn't have WMD is naive as hell. We can debate the reasons for going to war, but lets get real.
They didn't have nukes(Israel took care of that capability in the early 80's) or biologicals and possessing chemical weapons that were "state of the art in 1918" doesn't count. How was Saddam supposed to deliver those antiquated "weapons of mass destruction", glorified V-2 rockets that can barely reach Israel?

The domestic terrorist Sarin attack in Japan killed twelve people....you can do better with an individual suicide bomber using conventional explosives. That was an optimal situation as well, nerve gas in a subway.

These were two of my original arguments against the Iraq war.

Have you read The Bomb in My Garden? Might change your mind.

Iraq's nuclear capabilities were not taken care of by Israel. It just pushed them to centrifuge technology faster.

Speaking in theory, assume Saddam produced a low yield atomic weapon. How exactly was it a threat to US? Pakistan has nukes and moderate missile tech and they're closer to Osama and radical Islam than Saddam ever would have been.

How hard is it to get into the US illegally?

All errant nukes are potential threats. It just depends on who has them. Delivery is crazy easy.

Saddam said he had WMDs.

I like how people let their political views distort reality. We went in totally for the oil. Keep believing that. It will do you a lot of good. I hope everyone here who believe that approaches everything in live with such narrow mindedness. It makes it easier for people like me to get ahead.
