weaker tricep!?

need opinions... My left tricep is noticibly larger than my right tricep. I've always been told that you shouldn't favor a weaker muscle over the stronger one because the weaker one will catch up over time. Do you guys believe this?? I've been favoring them equally over the past 3 years and yet my left tri keeps growing and my right one pretty much stays the same. I don't understand this because my right arm is the dominant one. Can some of you guys post up your tri routines so i can get some more ideas and cross my fingers that this is some kinda sticking point. these are the exercises i usually do.

skull crusher: flat/incline/decline
cable skull crushers: flat/incline/decline
cable pushdowns with the triangle
cable pushdowns with the rope
one arm cable pushdowns: palms up/palms down
one arm cable pushdowns: with the rope
dips
close grip bench press: flat/incline/decline
elbow out extensions: DB's
cable kickbacks
DB kickbacks
close grip pushups flat/incline/decline

I usually pick about 4 of these exercises for that day and then alternate the rest throughout. the two arm exercises i feel equal pumps during/after and they both get equally sore so that leads me to believe they're working the same amount. The one arm exercises the weaker tricep i can do more reps with, and the bigger one gets fatigued quicker!? haha what the hell is going on?? I appreciate any help/info!!

oops i forgot to write weighted dips on my list. I'll do the actual dip "podium/machine" whatever you wanna call it and i also do them on a bench with a plates on my quads. I've never had any surgerys, never pulled anything. that's why i don't understand this. I just got back from the gym and some old guy mentioned something about doms (sp?) and then ruled that out because i mentioned i drink 2 gallons of water a day.

i'm checking out that link right now. Anymore ideas/suggestions???

looked at the link. it's nice to know others deal with the same problem. i made this thread to get some ideas and wondering if i should rule out the "it'll catch up" line everyone seems to tell me after 3 years of not favoring it over the bigger one and no catching up.

DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) doesn't really have anything to do with water... although i'm sure it'd be more pronounced if you're Dehydrated but drinking 2 gals of H20 a day won't keep DOMS away if it's work your muscle isn't used to.

just FYI.

haha yeah i had never heard of DOMS until today and it wasn't a full description of what it was. The old guy just said doms then asked how much water i drink a day and then said "nope, can't be it." while i had a puzzled look on my face. i'll be sure to break his hip tomorrow for feeding me bs :chomp:

im in the same boat man... my left tri is bigger, although my right is dominate... frickin weird...i also notice my triceps are different shapes as well. My rights is a nice horseshoe but my left has a stair on the joining heads...

ive noticed that going really heavy on close-grip bench has caught my right up a bit, to say the least...

like other people say try a few more sets for your right, but i think just going heavier is the best!
