Weak hamstrings...help.

Hey girls,
I was inspecting my body yesterday and was noticing everything was looking tight.
Once I turned around and looked at the back of my thigh it was like a train wreck. lol
They look the same they did as before I even started weight training (6 months ago)
I dont understand at all.
It looks out of shape and saggy a bit.
The front of my thighs look beautiful, nice curve and firm.
but the back, yucky.

Any advice?
What workouts can I do to concentrate on that area?

My ham's aren't as tight as my quads either..

what do you do for ham's ? I like to mix it ... do DL's both db and straight leg. Seated ham curl and the standing one that I can do individual...

I think it has just as much to do with diet.. seems thats one place I lose last.

I dont think im doing the right workouts for them thats just the thing.
My leg day workout consits of leg press, leg curls, squats, lunges....
Someone told me to take on running cause they always have tight legs...

SPRINTS! I did the whole running distance thing and I hated the way my legs and ass looked after...

Sprints and biking on the other hand are good.

Also add in some dead Lifts.. those hit my ham's something fierce.

Also you have to remember that that is where women tend to carry more of their bodyfat. A large part of that result is goign to be diet related. When you train do you actually notice real weakness in your hamstring strength? Or are you just referring to the "look"??

Also yesterday was leg day I tried to change it up a bit and did more reps than usual with lighter weight.
I normally go heavy w. little bit of reps..

I need to get my Cardio back up and start doing it like I should.. saving that for the end to shock my body.

Try sprinting pulling a sled with a 45lb plate on it... OUCH! Talk about getting NO WHERE Fast! ;)

P,

Yup sprinting will help, plus start stiff-leg deadlifts, that exercise works those babies like crazy, and even works the boty out too ;) a win win situation :)

thanks Miss!
Ive never tried deadlifts cause I was afraid of having bad form.
I will look into it and give it a try!

Deadlifts are awesome. You're really feel it, and I'm sure if your body fat is up to par, you will see the results. Quck Q, what exactly is sprinting? Having a discussion at work, and we all have different perceptions of what sprinting is.

sprinting = running as FAST as you can for a short period of time (eg. 30 sec.), then you rest for say a minute or 2, then sprint again.

Me too girl, in my post I was referrring to my high school track school of thought... as in, on an actual track, i.e. sprint a lap, sprint the straightaways, walk the bends etc...
