I just wanted to share something with all of you. I am a Youth Pastor, and if you hate God, please keep reading. For so long the church has been known for what we are against (Gay marriage, pro life, anti this anti that, you know what I am talking about). But the church has not been known for what they are doing to help make this world a better place.

So this week I did a Missions trip to our community. We went and helped people who were poor, helped work on their homes and fix stuff up. I was really proud of my teens. I am vary tired as we worked really hard, and I didn't get much sleep. I am now putting tiger-balm on all my bug-bites and trying to rest.

Jesus came to earth to bring love, joy, peace and freedom to those whose lives were out of control, and hurting. I think the church for so long just wanted to tell people how to live, instead of bringing people to life. I don't know if any of this makes sense to you, but it does to me.

Later to all and have a great weekend.

There is certainly many examples of how Christain groups do wonderful things in local communities. In our town, the Christian Mission use some of their funds to run a mobile soup kitchen. There's alot of hidden poverty in the town and you'd be surprised who uses the van every evening. As well as the homeless, you also have young unmarried mothers, pensioners, those with lifelong learning difficulties and disabilities that prevented them working, and immigrants who came with nothing and despite working huge hours still have nothing. I've always admired the Christian Mission for their work.

A Jesus follower. I hate saying Christian because so many people have so many flawed views of what a Christian is.
