No, I think it's deeper than that. I live in a fucking snow cave up here in the Great White North and I, almost immediately caught the intent behind the remarks.
It's like the media, selectively choosing sound bites out of context, to make a point. That's why I rarely get excited about what talking heads & politicians say, even if I agree, because I can never be sure if the full context is being reported also.
