We have this guy coming today to cut three trees down.

Depends on the location of the trees of course. If they have to surgically remove it because it`s next to power lines or the house, then you`ll pay more. If it`s in the middle of a huge yard with nothing around it, then it`s less of course.

Someone here in DE got a price of $950 to remove a tree already on the ground....

At least one thousand dollars. It could be less if he is just doing it on the side.

yeah they werent cutting the WHOLE tree down, they topped it off, and a huge chunk of the trunk crushed it. you know how dogs always wanna know whats going on in their yards. he was standing right by the bottom of the tree barking, the guy couldnt hear him cause of the chain saw. you know the rest.
this is kind of what i do for a living. it is all going to depend on the size of the tree, the difficulty(near power lines/houses/etc) of the job, and whether you want the debris hauled off or just cut and leave. if you are going with a big name company be prepared to be shocked by the estimate.
Well we lucked out. He's only going to charge us $200.00 for all three trees.
But like some of you said it's pretty easy to get to. Close to the street.
And then another guy wants the wood to burn, so he's going to come and get the
cut up logs.
Not bad, I thought it was going to be a lot more.

thats great that it turned out so cheap.
a lot of people dont realize how costly it typically is or how dangerous it can be. often we will give an estimate to someone and they will get mad thinking we are trying to juice them, but after they get a few more estimates they practically beg us to do the job.

Wow! Great. I really can`t believe that... If one guy does it by himself and it takes a day, there`s his day`s pay PLUS expenses???... Keep that guy`s number. lol

My dad's farm has about 225 acres set asside for Select cutting of cherry, ash, maple and a handful of different pines, used to fell and cord them for a summer job. Loved that work. I would have charged you nothing, just because I
you so, but I would have charged more than that back in the early 80's!
