WBC Rosters

by the way, as if i needed a reason to fucking hate A-Rod before the WBC?? I hate him more now. He's such a fuckin punk.

Why 'cause he's playing for the Dominicans? I'd hate him more if he didn't play at all.

Garciaparra's supposed to play for Mexico, but I don't se him on the roster.

no because he promises DR, then the US, then the DR, then the US.

He came out and said he'd play for DR or whoever, i think personally, as a PR act: "Hey im fuckin cool cuz im in touch with my roots and want to play for a country i wasnt even born in"

thats like McGwire playing for Ireland.

any word on Cuba? GWB is gay if he fucks up the WBC (baseball) over Cuba

no

same with Garciaparra, who grew up in Whittier. The yqualify because their parents are natives of thsoe countries and I think MLB and reps from the other countries want to be ableto spread the talent so that countires like Italy that otherwise don't have much of a baseball program can atleast get some press and attention. I think it's OK for this first WBC, but they need to work those things out once it gets established and going as an international competition.

i thought a rod said he was going to play for the us team

he is, he has just flip flopped so many times in the past few months. why? because he's an attention whore. maybe he should post on elite.

makes sense. could you imagine if the US kept all the players on its team versus the world? it'd be a good match up. US born players versus World..kind of like how they do in Davis Cup in golf.

that link says a rod is on the us team

the dominicans have some great bats but the pitching is suspect after pedro and colon and i dont want :mexican: to come in here and say how odalis perez is a great pitcher too

let me guess...choi, kim, park, or lee...any 3 of those correct?

i bet colon is first in line at the dominican team buffet

The dominican republic has no idea what a "buffet" is. A concept of a plethora of food lying there to be eaten and as much as you want??

that concept is considered "magic" in the DR my friend.

I actually hope the Dodgers trade Odalis Perez, he can be good at times but he's overpaid and inconsistent.

The Phillies need pitching and are getting desperate, they should see if they can get Abreu for him.

lol yeah thats a fair trade

If Colletti can get another veteran pitcher like he says he wants, I think Odalis will be on the trading block. Colleti's been pulling some good moves so far. The Phillies would salivate at Odalis and a Dodgers pitching prospect or two (since the farm is stocked with pitching prospects).

"The biggest questions surround the starting rotation. Gillick has tried to get a No. 1 or No. 2 starter since his arrival in Philadelphia, but hasn't been able to finalize a deal. The Phillies reportedly offered Bobby Abreu to several teams, though they may have overvalued the All-Star right fielder.

"We're looking for a top-of-the-rotation guy, someone who can strike people out and stop losing streaks," Gillick said. "I'm optimistic we can find one. They're available. It just depends on what you have to give them. You may have to overpay."

desperate!

speaking of "aces" what the fuck was Kevin Millwood thinking signing with the rangers and not the red sox????
